Thermal detonator. PVC pipe and some grey paint. I had to sand down the edges and the end peices slipped right on. Now onto the clips. Happy Friday everyone!! Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

I don't have pictures yet but...... It looks like my butt piece flares out too much on the sides. Will the belt hold the sides of the butt in or do I have to reshape it? I just don't have a belt yet to try it with. Some pictures I see, the belt covers the gap between the butt and the kidney and some don't.

Hand painting the bucket while watching a documentary about star Wars. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday evening. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Hand painting my bucket this lovely Friday evening. I've got the first coat of gray on the teeth and the black on the vents. Updates throughout the weekend to come. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

I think I'm gonna call it a win on my ears for now. My nerves are still shot from the first time trimming. I think my biggest problem with the ears is the angle. I'm gonna take a look at them this weekend and really take some time adjusting them. The forearms are perfect as far as getting them over my hands. The problem is after I get them on, my skinny forearms don't hold them anywhere they just slide around. I fixed this by adding a strap from the bicep to the forearm and that made all the difference in the world. They fit just right now and don't wiggle around anymore. Thank you so much for the help.

Test fit of arms was so fun! My forearms are little loose and I gotta move the straps on the shoulder bells but I think its coming along nicely. Also did some painting on the bucket. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Some bucket building and some sewing today. The real victory is getting my wife's grandmother's 1952 sewing machine working! Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

I got a little too excited trimming the ears. Reflecting back at my actions I made a fatal error. I didn't check any reference pictures. I assumed that the bottom of the ear wrapped all the way to the bottom of the bucket. In all actuality, it sits kind of high on the cheek. Thinking that it wraps all the way down I trimmed to that and you can see the contour is right but the ear itself sits way too low. Luckily ATA send 2 pairs of lefts and rights just for idiots like me! Thank you ATA!!! All in all I spent many hours this weekend in my workshop and enjoyed every minute. Even the few setbacks! To be honest...... I would like to shoot for Centurion but I also think that just being approved and then making tweeks as I go to get there would be ok too.

All trimming is now complete! Now onto gluing. I'm happy with the progress I made this weekend. I'm taking the rest of the day off of building! Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

A Saturday well spent. Some test fitting. Almost done trimming. And found the strength to drill some holes in the bucket! Please let me know what you see and what I might want to fix. I gotta say I'm really enjoying this process. I was really scared and nervous at the beginning but now I'm loving every minute! Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Take 2 on the forearms. I got rid of all return edges and used the dremmel to smooth out. I think this time it will set much better. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

So after some time spent feeling really good about my progress I took the tape and clamps off and was immediately disappointed. I totally hate the way these peices came out. I think by putting strips on the inside I ended up making it harder for myself with the outside ones to get a perfect fit. The saving grace is that I chose to use E6000 and not zap a gap. Thank you to all who pushed me in that direction. The thing I'm taking away from this is that sh!@ happens, live and learn, and all those other cat posters. I'm taking a day off of building. Tomorrow I'll tear these things apart, clean them off and start over with a clear head. Failure is not an option but it is a temporary shot in the stomach. I'll be in the corner licking my wounds. Thank you for all the great info! I was planning on trimming the return edges off on the forearms. My feeling about return edges is this. I like the way they look but I'm not going to compromise comfort. I have zero experience wearing these kinds of things so, I figured I'd keep some return edge and see how it all comes together and how it fits. After that I can cut more off if needed. Please correct me if my thinking is flawed. Also I have a question about the forearms. Do I just glue the other side or can I use velcro to make it easier to put on? Thanks again for taking the time. It's really appreciated. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Finally started gluing something together! I really feel like I'm flying blind but its coming along nicely. I just keep checking reference pictures and other build threads until I'm satisfied and then move forward. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Definitely. The teeth aren't quite where I want them yet. Some filing and shaping left to do.

So I decided to start on the bucket. I gotta tell you my nerves got the best of me. I muscled through it and I think it came out pretty good. Still gotta touch up some things but all in all I'm happy with it. Using the dremmel on the eyes was alot easier than I thought it was going to be. Till next time. Thanks! I think I'm finally feeling confident with my cuts. Here's where I got the E-11 prints. I only had to modify 2 parts to fit my 6x6x6 printing area. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:957801/
