Gap in thighs filled, internal strips put on both thighs to reinforce. Rivets ready to go for ammo pack, tomorrow. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Gone with a 25mm cover strip, about 15-20mm opening at the top narrowed the knee opening by about 20-30mm. Cover strip has about 2mm of contact each side at very top Gluing one side first on each thigh before joining, will fill gap with some epoxy and do larger reinforcing strip on inside. Thanks, it does look better, will just get shimming or crash diet. Is a slightly wider cover strip ie 25mm acceptable for centurion? Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Photos attached, Note Cod and posterior just for reference, held by hand as not finished. Last photo has the opening at knee bought in. Opening the top by about an inch. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Been over thinking the thighs as they seem pretty tight at the top and mid thigh. So I opened up the overlap at the knee, now they seem a better fit at the top but the knee opening is 6 - 6.5" wide, would this look ridiculous as my knees are approx 4.5" in diameter? If I try to narrow it at the knee the top will have to open up more as the mid thigh gets pretty tight. Suggestions? Bring in at knee (as shown in previous post) & Shim? Or ok as per these photos? Have 20mm cover strips ready but could go wide if have too Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Thanks Here is a better lit photo of the posterior of the shins, I've marked where I think I'll need to do mobility cuts but that will be later once I get a feel for how everything goes together haven't yet done anything with the bottom of calves as they seem to fit ok against the boots. Posterior of thighs still to be cut properly, there is currently an overlap at the knee which I have to bring in, but need the full width at top of thighs. Vertical tape is where i think cover strip will go, also marked where I may do mobility cut too. Any tips always welcome. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Been a productive few days. - Velcro closures and cover strips on calves. - Sniper knee in place just needs a small bit of heating and glue to attach the sides. Front glue has had 48hrs to cure. Happy with it's position. - Front of thighs done, and reinforced on inside, return edges trimmed, - thigh ammo pack trimmed. - Split rivets purchased from Bunnings, no sausage though . Plan to finish legs by end of week. Cover strips on backs of thigh should be vertical and exacly in middle or off set slightly ok?? Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Thanks, this would have been a better solution, but already trimmed. Better fit before trimming but nothing a bath won't fix. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Left and right cover strips (25mm) on backs of calves. Going to trim sniper knee now as suggested. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Time to finish calves How's the position of this sniper knee look? I noticed most AP builds seem to have a slight lean. Will just need heat up one side to push it down slightly. Should I trim the return edge on the bottom of the knee plate for a closer fit? Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

S trim in on. Just need to fix 1 decal, add som padding and get some more white paint for the screws. Can't seem to get the R ear any closer even with targeted sanding. But believe that was ok based on previous posts and being able to drive bus through the gaps in some of the original helmets. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Yep sideways then rotating, big head Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Buckets back together. How much can I widen the opening for my big head? doesnt fit in with the trim Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Thanks Sly11, saw a rs prop masters video of them doing that so will go with your recommendation. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Welding screen arrived yesterday. Lenses cut & installed, brow mesh in, touch up paint done. Hopefully finish the helmet today, whilst on zoom calls of work With the s trim, is it worth gluing in place or will it hold itself without some spots of glue? As I have seen varying opinions on the forums. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Thanks, only a small problem in the scheme of things. Had a gap on the lower edge for air flow. Will try the silicon on next attempt. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Polishing the lenses didn't work, so ripped it out and ordered another sheet to cut to size. Used 600 grit to get rid of the green stains in the sockets, 1200 grit to finish. It came up good as new. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Used some blobs of Apoxie to strengthen around the ear screw holes, which gave me a bit more confidence when counter sinking the screws. Least something turned out ok today Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Was thinking the same. Will give it a try, worst case, ripe it out and start again. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Problem is on the outside, the glue ran and dissolved some of the lenses color into the excess glue which made contact with the white now it looks crap! Had a test piece that it happened too which cleaned up easily with some sandpaper. Should I use 1200 grit or go for something finer as need to get the green stain out and clean up the lense scratches Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Lense is in, looks great on inside Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Have had lots of trouble securing the individual lenses as they want to pop up flat and the sugru doesn't appear to want to set as the temp here is pretty cold. The sugru doesn't also appear to like adhering to the plastic. Have cut a larger piece that spans the two eye sockets and it seems to like sitting in there following the shape of the helmet. Have used some Apoxie modelling compound to beef up the inside so I can get a larger surface area to bond too. See how it goes after 24hrs drying time. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Got beaten trying to get the the sniper knee right, so took a break to focus on rl stuff. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Been a long time between posts, have just finished my 4th degree and now have some time to finally finish my kit, hopefully before the 2 yr mark kicks in. As going for centurion and being a perfectionist won't be done in a week, going to be a bit more systematic rather than jump between pieces like I have been doing previously. I bought a lexan welding face shield and cut it up for lenses, see photos below. Was thinking of pulling the helmet apart so I can get them in perfectly, fixed with sugru. Then reassemble with some rivets instead of some of the hidden screws. Any thoughts on this approach? Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
