  1. Hey guys, I can finally say I'm done! After removing all the paint I went to get new paint. A full set of 3 cans -> Plastic Primer - Steel Hammer - Matt Black. This time there werr no problems with horrible reactions. I applied some light weathering because I hope it will get it's realistic weathering by trooping a lot with it. I hope you guys like the final result! On to the next build thread! Armor! Hope to see you guys following and guide me through! Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A520F met Tapatalk
  2. Hello guys, Been putting some work in my blaster the last week. Had some serious problems! But first some good news! Started the last sprint to the end... So I thought... Added filler to the added Magazine Housing. Front Sight. Rear Sight. Masked the inner bolt. And then the Foldingstock decided to crack... First layer of primer after some extra sanding. End Cap after first priming and sanding. Some finished pieces! Very happy with these guys! Metallic underlayer. And the Hammerite Hammerpaint nice and smooth. Some details. And then lightning struck... Everything went very smooth and I was down to the last Matt layer when a reaction between Hammerite and top layer happened. You can guess what happened next... Some very cheap nailpolish remover (without aceton!) seems to the job just right. Oh man... So much to get rid off... What a horrible mess! Meanwhile I was high as a frog! But even with double sight from the smell I could see I was getting somewhere! Folding Stock horror! Just keep rubbing! And here is where I am now. Smooth as a baby's butt from all the sanding and polishing. And ready to get primed again! Just cleaned all the pieces with degreaser and will be heading for a specialised shop tomorrow with a part to get some compatible paints. I'll probably won't be adding a hammer layer again, unless they can assure me that it will not give any reactions. I'm not sure what caused the reaction. Some parts had the reactions and parts like the Folding Stock didn't. I however decided to strip all the paint from all the pieces because the paint also chipped really easy from "well painted" parts. Frustrated as I was I was almost ready to throw it all in the trash! My 8-year old son however told me he thought it was very sad of what happened with the paint. He said I could not give up and have to become a stormtrooper! So I gathered all my courage and started rubbing that damn piece of resin... Glad I did! So I'll be posting again soon with hopefully a completely finished blaster! Keep you updated! Almost there!
  3. Hi again, back with some more updates! Kept working on the inner bolt first. First layer of metallic paint was too bright so I started adding a quick shade from Armypainter I had lying around. Pretty happy with the metal/rust effect. Started working on the grip and trigger group again. I wanted to make the trigger group almost completely out of aluminium. Did not know how... So I just began with cutting some aluminum Had to try some different techniques and tools to get there. Some more successful then others Bending the aluminum in al kinds of angles. Finally after a few hours of work it started to look like something. Almost a perfect fit from the first try! And right on after the second try! Test fitting with the new cut trigger (made from forex/sintra 5mm) and a previous bent trigger guard. Did not like the old trigger guard so I decided to make a new one. Made a wooden dummy to bend the aluminum into shape. Some more aluminum bending was done that day and several meters of aluminum were wasted. Much better! After trying every DIY store nearby went to a specialized screw store. Finally found that screw I was looking for! Different angel of the trigger group. Decided to sand out the resin nut and replace it with a real one for extra detail. The selection screw broke a while back. I tried to fix it with some steel pins but did not really like the shape and was afraid the crack would still be visible after painting. So with some stuff I had lying around I tried to recreate a better one. Forex 5mm was too thick so had to be sawn in half. Used a spare nut for the screw part of the switch. The result after several attempts. Almost drove me nuts! Side by side comparison of the end result. Picture of the self made selection screw. Time to get some primer on this baby. Nice detail! Damn you little bubbles/holes! After sanding and priming the bubbles again, I added a black base layer. Finished result of my grip and trigger group // Part 1 // Finished result of my grip and trigger group // Part 2 // Finished result of my grip and trigger group // Part 3 // Finished result of my grip and trigger group // Part 4 // Started on the magazine tonight but will be posting that in my next update! To be continued
  4. Hey Tino, I adjusted the clearing strip. This better? I know it's a little high up but I like it this way. Made the strip 6mm. Dennis Blue Snaggletooth send me a reference picture and I took measurements from that picture. Will be adjusting the LED tomorrow and continue to work on my trigger group. Again thanks for the tips and info!
  5. Hey Tino, What should the width of the clearing stripe be? I'll see what I can do to correct it. I was indeed not completely happy with the led but as I'm closing to the end I'm trying to correct all the little defects. Thanks for the tips!
  6. Hi all, It's been a while since I have been able to find the time to work on the blaster and post my progress. At this moment I am very busy with finding a new job and have been very busy with my portfolio and job interviews. The past days I have been able to rip myself away from the computer and continue my blaster build! Time for a big update! First of all I had to move from my loft space because it was getting very hot up there. I took me residence in the downstairs garage now and must say I'm happy with the change of scenery. First thing I started working on in the new space was the folding stock. Next I put some extra work in the spaces between the t-tracks and the main body. Added the bayonet lug Inner bolt, plunger and extractor Next up: The magazine Waited with the telescope for a long time because I knew it was going to be hard. Big gap because I got really stressed and forgot to take pictures. Need to clean the joint with the front lens. Added some detail to the rear sight. Modifications to the end cap clip. Everything coming together for the first time! Still a lot of work to do, but the end is in sight! Very happy with the result so far! I'll try to post my updates sooner! Until next time!
  7. Hi everyone, Tried to get some work done this week. Not as much as I had hoped but very happy with my counter! Found a Hengstler 400 on the internet this week. Put it together with the parts from Dennis Blue Snaggletooth this evening. I also started to modify and hollow the folding stock. Untill next time! Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A520F met Tapatalk
  8. I still need to modify the grey cover. I cheated by switching the cover for the photo Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A520F met Tapatalk
  9. Hengstler Counter Update Dennis Blue Snaggletooth Hengstler Parts Damn, what have I gotten myself into this time... Always start with the easy stuff! Starts to look like something! Recreated the Coil in Adobe Illustrator Printed and cut out. Looks good, but not real enough! Sanded some plexiglass. And voila! Looks much more realistic in my opinion. Pretty happy with the result! But then Dennis told me this window and side wall were all wrong... Back to scratch then... Coil side 2.0 Thank you Dennis Blue Snaggletooth for all the parts, information and reference pictures! I'll try to update sooner on the further progress of my build! Until next time! Kevin
  10. Time for another update! It has been a while, but I have used all my free time for building and forgot to write updates! Started working on the Front Sight Carefully cutting with a small hacksaw. Glad this part was over! It took me about an hour! Added the Pin and Knurling Pattern. Bolts from the folding stock - BEFORE Bolts from the folding stock - AFTER Reinforced the End Cap Placed the D-Ring on the End Cap Star Wars Identities finally in Belgium! Can hardly wait! My son wants to be a Jawa! I'll know what to do when I'm done with my Blaster and Armor! Couldn't be more happy to share this moment with my son! Next update: Power Cylinders
  11. These things happen. I'm hoping RS will fix this for me. With what I have read, I'm pretty hopeful. They seem to be very correct with these kinds of issues. Fingers crossed!
  12. Hi, Time for another update! Progress has been going slow, but I have obligated myself to take this build slow. Installed the second metal plate and am looking into covering the other trigger parts with tin aluminum Still looking for the right screw to serve as selection screw. Sanded and ready for replacement. Installed a little piece aluminum to keep the D-ring from moving and rattling. And installed the front blobs with the right screws. This week it was also time for BBB-Day! Was very excited for this! Some parts came in cracked so I have contacted RS Props for replacement. Was not very happy with the gloves either.
  13. Hello, Time for a litte update! this week I received parts from Dennis Blue Snaggletooth to recreate the counter. I also have been working on removing and replacing some parts from the trigger group with custom made aluminum replacement parts. This was a looooooot of work! It took me several hours to get it to fit nicely. I'm currently working on the other side of the gun to do the same. And there is more news! I received my UPS tracking this week and today me RS Propmasters kit will be arriving! However I instructed myself to finish the blaster first before starting to work on the armour.
  14. Hello Everyone, The past week the first parts for my E-11 Blaster came in! Time for me to start a thread! So this week my first boxes started to arrive. I decided to start building the E-11 while waiting for my RS kit to arrive. I plan on finishing the E-11 first to get familiar with all different types of materials and tools like the Dremel. My first boxes! Doopydoos Kit. Doopydoos Kit. T-Jay kit. Doopydoos & T-Jay Kits side by side. The place where I'll be spending most of my time from now on. After checking if all the parts were present, it was time for them to take a bath. I decided to start with the parts that were the easiest in my opinion. Drilling the resin to replace the screw. Replacement screw insalled. Ready to Dremel the locking screw. Readt to install te real screw. Screw installed. I'll be looking for a replacement for this screw because I want it to be a little bigger. Next up: Hole drilling. Marking the centre of the holes. Pre-drilling with small drill. Step-by-step enmarging the holes. Cleaned up drill holes and the locking mechanism of the folding stock. Detail look of the holes. Started to open up the holes where the t-tracks grasp behind the holes. I'll probably be putting some more work in the E-11 today. I'll keep you guys updated! If there are things that can be improved or just tips in general, I would like to hear it from you!
