  1. There are two blasters I’ll be using depending on the event. The complete prop and I’m including my current project that has lights and sound.

    This is the prop:

This is the more functional unit still in progress. This is a kit from Raymond Hebert BlasterMaster.

I like them.... which one is the lightest for trooping purposes ?

  2. Thanks!! I think they look good in the pics also, I just have no range of motion at all, and where the knee sits the return edge catches my knee cap when I move. So I was thinking if I take a little off the top I can pull them up a bit and they wont catch my knee any more. But maybe I'll consider taking a little off just the back first and see how that works

Yes, start with the back 1st...

  3. I was SO PROUD when I got my CENTURION BADGE..... but i still find Im PERFECTING my Level 3 armor .... ( even my bin NEEDED PERFECTION !!! ) since DAY ONE I hated by bells and chest piece ... I always felt they were TO SMALL ....
    bf3aa815423d43478e6894e9eb3fe756.jpg
Then like a month ago WALT @ WTF comes out making LARGER BELLS & LARGER CHEST .... well I FINALLY made the plunge and ordered BOTH OF THEM...
    c8b8b8e95d00dc291cd797bd102a339e.jpg
I feel this is a MAJOR UPGRADE to my OVERALL LOOK !!!
Ps. I could have ordered bigger bells/chest piece from other makers but i felt it would have DISTORTED my overall look !
    Well I’m glad I didn’t invest elsewhere !
Ty Walt it was worth the wait !!!

  4. hey troopers,
sorry i haven't posted in a while ive been trying to do a lot of the limbs and so far im nearly finished with the limbs as well as the chest and back plates. anyways, ive been doing some work on the kidney/abdomen plates and i made a little mess up on the ab plate but it should be an easy fix. anyways heres some pictures of what ive been doing with the ab/kidney plate
This is some pictures of me trying it on with masking tape

on the last picture I put only one piece of masking tape to hold that side together and I did that on purpose because I wanted the tape to almost mimic the way i would finish the armor so the left side would be held up with them touching, and the right side would be held up by a snap and elastic or nylon. if there is a way better method for people with a bit of a stomach  please let me know/send me a link please.
    Thanks

My question is WHY do you have 3 RIVITS in place of the right side of the abd ???

(RIVITS go only on the left side)

  5. Would I be affecting my chances of EIB or Centurion approval if I cut down the width of the cover strip?

Why just leave ur cover strip at 10mm just trim the excess just a hair ..... it will LOOK GOOD ON THE OUTSIDE....and u can always “reinforce” it with an inside cover strip . It won’t show .

  6. So after 24 hours I removed all the clamps, magnets and tape and the right thigh turned out great! The left thigh didn't turn out as great though
I didn't notice when I was clamping down the cover strip but the ridge where the cover strip rest on has a curve to it.

I put a green dotted line on it so you can see it a bit better

While normally I wouldn't worry too much, when I was trimming I made the ridge 10mm on both sides all the way up, but I didn't take into account
that there was a curve. So now when the cover strip lays on there flat, I end up with this ridge being exposed on the right and a slight overhang on
the left side of the cover strip.

I'm aiming for upper level approval so I'm gonna rip it off and try again. But I'm wondering what would be the best way to fix this problem. I've noticed on thigh reference pics that a lot of the cover strips have a bend to them to follow the cut lines I assume.

Should I attempt to heat up the strip and add a bend to match the ridge or what I should do?? Help!!!

I would attempt to bend it , or just make the cover strip like 14mm

  7. Bought a screen repair kit because I didn't want to buy a whole roll of screen.
It came with a tacky adhesive backing which I just rolled off. I then placed it over the frown and used a silver sharpie to mark the corners.
I pretty much eyeballed it, trimmed it, and smeared e6000 on the edges. 798e80c13faa774faa3cb0ad658576e0.jpg&key=15bfcdcaab16eeb39778fc4f765e678f82239dc726a410b360ed092575fb50d8e7d8b914fcb50c953d7f2f08ae65d80f.jpg&key=fc839564b11e7fd4547098dc014cef057656192dde371d69ecfc916ba20d671d6012a5a712f75432fcf35e68b6faf596.jpg&key=f5df7790ba398ef5700104969d502ead34fa54fa138fec96c715d7c1c6b99a1c329382c529ca1917055c419a85a59f73.jpg&key=decbc463eff243229d1b9dfff9ef814c3d780060602db3bd847de20ea3f88f46

  8. Yeah,  thank you,  that's what I was thinking.  I really risk warping them badly or causing damage. I only mentioned I had one in case someone had some advice on using it and getting the results I want

Do you have access to a deep kettle, from your mom or aunt ? One you could borrow for the hot bath ?
