If the clips holding the thigh armour up is approved is that likely to be basic or level 2/3?
On the “eye bump” personally I’m still not clear what I’m looking at, even with all those images above, maybe it’s just me. However, even if it is, the OT TKs (on whom the bump is clearly visible) don’t have that detail in the crl, even for Centurion so why would we add it for this costume when it’s even harder to see?

What colour blue are people using for the 2 buttons on the ab?

Hi Sir, your R1 TK load out looks incredible. I’m completely blown away. A couple of the guys have referred me to you regarding my interest in obtaining a full set of R1 TK armor of my own. Are you still producing more for others?
Did you get through to Jim regarding purchasing a kit?

Mmmm...possibly. Do we have a clear shot showing they are one piece?
Sadly I haven’t found one.
But, nor have I found anything that suggests that it is 2 piece either, I’m guessing this (like a lot of other details) was just copied over from the ANH stunt crl?
Given that the shoretroopers, Tank Troopers and (I think) FO TKs were all made by the same teams and all have the ab / kidney plate as one piece it seems to me far more likely that they’d have done the same for this costume.
-
Just re-reading the crl it states that the ab and kidney plates are 2 seperate pieces. Im not sure this is correct?

Out of curiosity, what was the cost on Jimmiroquai's kit? I love the R1 TK and might scuttle my ESB TK to get this instead!
You're best off contacting Jimmiroquai directly for a quote. The final price depends on exactly what you want (armour, helmet, undersuit, all 3?) And of course shipping.

Thanks for posting this, I've seen 3d printed armour but its good seeing the actual printing process.
How complicated was your printer to setup?

I used fabric that hopefully looks enough like the screen used helmets. That way they still let air in.
That's a fantastic idea. I think I even have an old tshirt that would be the right colour.....

Ok, I understand the hole on the right but what is that on the left? I don't see that in any of my reference photos. Does anyone else have this on their kit? Most likely I'm going to move the shoulder straps further down so I'll end up filling it in
I just looked at the CRL photo and it doesn't have it
I wonder if its possible that you've been sent an Inferno Squad back plate by mistake?

I was thinking about that. I may use a weaker velcro so it's easier to separate.
I was thinking that maybe using magnets instead of velcro might stop it flexing?

On another note, I'm having trouble finding good quality, close up photos of the ab details. Mostly I have the Celebration photos and there's always a blaster in the way. So if anyone wants to help a brother out, please post here or message me
These are the best that I have.
The first I think is from Celebration, the second from the "walking through the water" scene that never was and final two are from the visual guide.

The one Jyn uses extends and the side handle folds flat. We never see a TK with a baton in their hands, they're only seen on their belts.
Also is Battlefront 2 relevant to the RO TK as they would be the mark2 ROTJ armour.
-
Isn't it likely that the baton used by TKs is the same as the one we see Jyn use in Jedah?

How about the forearms? Do you thing you could slide them in with one side glued?
I can just about with the forearms. However, they’re held together with a simpler overlap so I can glue one side and Velcro the other, the flex is minimal.
sorry to highjack your thread THM, as someone who has completed their build did you have this issue?

I checked on Ebay for the MTK, only one person is selling it and it can only start shipping on the 11th, which might be a bit late. He also has the helmet included which I dont really need, and the shipping costs are too high.
If you do go with MTK then you will need the helmet because MTK is an OT (original trilogy) kit not Rogue One, therefore your black series helmet doesn’t match.
If you want to do a Rogue One trooper then the only person currently making that kit is Jim Tripon.

Yeah. It's flexible, but not that flexible. Are you able to slide your shin in from the top with it clamped without putting too much stress on the joint?
Not really, it cracked when I tried and I don’t have particularly large calves. That’s why I’m thinking to keep them in 2 halves and using Velcro front and back.

What adhesive are you using, out of curiosity?
I wonder if using something like E6000 instead of just dry clamping, if that would give you the flex needed to avoid stress cracks.
The thing is that the OT kits are put together differently to the Jimmi RO TK.
With the OT construction they're put together using the but and coverstrip, which means that when you flex it to put it on that force is spread across the whole surface.
With Jim's kit though the coverstrip is molded onto one side, when you flex it all the force is concentrated in the area I've circled below. This is exactly where mine cracked.
I'm not sure that the glue used would make any difference?
-
Im at this point too. I put clamps on the front to see if there was enough flex to get my leg in. It worked, but as soon as i took them off i found a small crack right where they flexed.
I'm currently thinking to just use velcro front and back?
-
For the shins I think the text may have been copied from the OT TK. Do we need the references to "AM shins"?
Also on the RO TK is the sniper knee atrached with rivets (the crl says it can be)?
-
I think that sounds right. Especially given the excellent reference pics that themaninthesuitcase posted above.

I have a question regarding level 3 requirements:
The Crl states that
Biceps must be constructed using the butt joint and cover strip method. Overlap construction is not allowed
The same is stated for the upper arms.
Jimmi is the only one making this armour and given how long it’s been it’s unlikey anyone else will now, and he uses overlap method. Are we therefore unlikely to ever see a centurion Rogue One TK?

Ok, I can see a little clearer, kind of.
My question still stands though: why would this crl include such an obscure detail when there is no precedent with other very similar costumes?
