  1. Making some progress. Completed my filing, primered and sanded helmet and a few pieces. Grey primer highlights the great detail of this armor. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  2. Yes, painters tape helped me get a feel for how the finished notches will look once I add a painted piece of abs plastic behind them. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for insight into glue, it's my first time with fiberglass. I agree with your thoughts on construction method and hope the final CRL will be adjusted to account for Jim's armor. I'm really pleased with the quality and detail. Thanks for the updates. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  4. Looking great. I have to admit the thing that intimidates me the most about working on fiberglass is cutting out holes. I don't think the files I used on my ABS bucket are going to do the job so I have to make up an excuse to hit the hardware store. Good luck.
  5. Thanks for advice darthcue. I'll look at the FOTK threads and look forward to your pics.
  6. Thanks for catching my mistake, hopefully corrected.
  7. That's what happens when you get too excited about BBB. I've been lurking and learning on this site for 6mos but have never been a poster and am finally figuring out how to create, reply and upload etc on the site. Hopefully my title change will take effect and prevent confusion between our two threads. Although it will be slow going due to the nature of my day job I'll keep my thread updated with my progress. Very likely I'll be learning from you though so please keep doing the same on your build thread. Good luck!!
  8. In my excitement I duplicated the title from: Apologies to cjkirk11. I've changed title to minimize confusion.
  9. Jim, I just received my kit and am very impressed with your amazing work! I'm now a believer in flexible fiberglass. I also received the perfectly tailored R1 undersuit and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. One question, would it be possible for you to include pictures of how you did your ab, cod strapping and belt assembly? This kit's a lot different than my Avonos TK and it would be really helpful to learn from your experience. Thanks in advance. I'll keep my build thread updated with progress.
  10. Well packed and everything accounted for.
  11. A long hard week on the road was all forgotten when I arrived home to see the BBBs from the Philippines today. It begins.
