  1. Hi, I am starting a Death Trooper build. I plan to get the hard parts and some accessories from Armory Shop Props, but they are sold out of their undersuits with no ETA for being back in stock, and I can't seem to find anyone else who sells one. Does anyone here know of another vendor that produces them?
  2. The biceps and forearms are glued together so I can't truly follow the Centurion guidelines for strip covers since they're technically overlapping at the moment.
  3. Can someone give me a hint as to how to unglue the pre-assembled SDS pieces (or any other brand for that matter) without completely destroying the armor? It's pretty stuck on there, and I'm afraid I'm going to mangle it beyond repair.
  4. I cannot seem to find a good how-to for assembly of the straps for the arm armor. Can someone reference this for me, or show me pictures of how they did it?
  5. I've seen 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, etc. Is there a size required for Centurion? I don't see anything specified. Obviously you don't want a 6" wide cover strip on the backs of your legs, nor do you want a 5mm strip, but is there some wiggle room in the cover strip size, as long as it's standardized within your own limbs, or is it clarified somewhere?

  7. Haven't started yet. Gotta get my armor straightened out, and will do the pack afterwards. Working on a parts list for the pack, but haven't bought anything yet.
  8. I've been looking for industrial-strength white velcro strips for a while, but can't seem to find all of those adjectives at the same time. White velcro, yes? White velcro that's industrial strength? Hard to find... Does anyone have a good suggestion? FYI - Talking about for making strip covers for the various leg and arm armor pieces.
  9. Great threads, thanks for the tips. I had been looking at Charles' post, but he didn't list all the details of the smaller parts so I was left wondering about those. The first two thread, wow, very very detailed. I am not a very crafty person, but I guess I'll have to pull it together for this.
  10. No problem, there, I have a very, very nice DLT-19 on the way: http://www.hfxproductions.com/wp-content/gallery/products/image3.JPG
  11. Well on that note, I was looking at a few pack builds today, and kind of planning out one in my head, but I can't find any of them that really list the sources for the smaller parts. It seems like the oil changing pan is the way to go for the base, with attached straps from a back pack, etc for the straps, but is there a build out there that outlines exactly what they used for the smaller parts?
  12. Thanks Joseph. So you'd suggest a secondary belt for starters. If I'm reading the CRL correctly, the HWT also does not require a E-11 holster, correct? So other than optional battle-scarring, it's essentially the TK minus the Holster, vertical drop boxes, and Thermal Detonator with Pauldron, MP40 ammo pouches, and backpack added (with the additional 'requirement' of a larger weapon)? Is that correct?
  13. How does this work, exactly? Do you have to get approved centurion as a TK before you can apply for HWT? The requirements are different in some areas (including some things the TK needs that the HWT doesn't). Can someone elaborate on that process?
  14. Sorry to necro a thread, but the build looks amazing. Would the OP mind providing a more detailed parts list for the attached items?
  15. This might be a bit of a technicality, but it's particularly relevant to the path I'd like to take, so here it goes: The E-11 holster is listed under the "Required" section, however the E-11 is considered optional, and listed alongside of it is the DLT-19 blaster. I have ordered and plan on trooping with a DLT-19 blaster, which is acceptable according to the requirements, but it seems odd to me that I would be required to attach and use an E-11 holster if I never plan on using one. Is the E-11 holster still a required part of the costume if you're not using one?
  16. Yes, I'm finding that out as we speak. I can either roll the dice and buy a relatively cheap ABS sheet online ($10-20), or go directly to a store that's local to me, of which there aren't very many, and pay a lot (70-80 for the same sheet). In regards to my previous response though, If I were to make a cover strip that's 1 1/2" - 2" wide to connect the two pieces, would that cause any issues with Centurion certification or general enlistment?
  17. When you say standard, does someone sell these somewhere, or are you just saying that's the commonly accepted size for them?
  18. I bought a set of SDS battle spec armor. If I used ABS to make extra wide cover strips on the back, would that cause trouble with any kind of application and/or centurion certification? I did use shims to get them to fit, but it looks pretty ugly from the back =\. I'd like to use something that was a better fit for the armor.
  19. So you might say I didnt "skip leg day"... Mostly just giant legs muscles, but either way, I've got a solid 1-1/2" gap in the back of my thigh armor on either side, and about 1/2" on my calf armor. All the "how to" photos I can find for the butt joint/strip cover method looks like their armor can actually meet underneath, but perhaps that isn't necessary? Can someone give me some tips on this, preferably with some photos. I'm a little lost at this point =\ Looks good from the front so far, though.
