After a extra long hiatus I finally pulled my box out of storage. Got the ears trimmed up and I think I’m ready for some paint. I still want to level out the brow but I’m wondering if I should take the whole thing up another 1/4” or just level it? Also curious about the rest of the trimming. Sounds like I was in the same group as you for the ANH TK. Last I heard it was pushing into late Q2. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that though. They will flat out lie to you when you are talking to them. I was told they were "looking awesome and shipping out as we speak" the day before I got the email about the Q1 delay. I haven't been following up lately as I cancelled all my orders with them. Now instead of waiting for armour I'm just waiting for my money back. Only six weeks into that fight now. Thank you so much for the advice and the kudos. Now that I know I haven't gone to far in some areas it puts my mind at ease. I will pull it apart again, trim where suggested and I plan on hitting it up with some final touches. The right ear caught my eye as well. My plan was once I have it trimmed to where I want it I would hit it with the files and sandpaper. I like the idea of wrapping the file with the paper. Hello all, After seeing my first stormtrooper nearly 40 yrs ago it was a surreal feeling when I opened my box to see my very own staring back at me. A huge shout out to AP for that, absolutely stunning. Now that I have the Exacto knife in my hand my question is am I taking to much or to little? The edges still need some cleaning up but I dry fit it for the pictures. My main concerns, naturally, are the teeth and ears. I know there is supposed to be gap at the ears but I think there is to much gap in the back? When it comes to the teeth I started second guessing myself that I was going to low so I decided to reach out before I continue. Any help or advice would be appreciated. It's not a official TE? Interesting. The guy said he was the only owner and he bought it directly from them. It sure doesn't provide a foundation of trust does it? He noted that just the helmet was HDPE but didn't mention the rest of the armour. I was assuming it was different as it is white and the helmet is black. Hello, I was one who was effected by Anovos' pushed back dates so I was looking for another project that wasn't TK related to occupy my wait time. I ran into a gentleman who has an untrimmed TE TK kit he pulled out of storage and is willing to part with it. From what I've read it should be pretty much the start of the family tree for the TK armour but I don't know a lot of the history about it. Awesome, thanks for the feedback. Looks like I will wait and save myself some grief down the road and stick with Anovos. I have a TFA TK helmet in transit from Anovos, which means the rest of the armour will be in a shopping cart too....but Q3 2017? Nearly a year is a fair timeline, especially for an impatient guy like me. I have also heard their time frames can change. Not sure if this is true or not as I am fairly new to the scene. Are they worth the wait on their standard line kits? Granted they are licensed but there is I'm sure many others putting out a quality set of armour which will not effect acceptance into the 501st. I am sure others have looked at this as well so I am curious if people are looking elsewhere and what are the best choices out there? Is it similar price points and how long are their wait times? Maybe I'm off base and Q3 is a reasonable wait time for an item like this. Wasn't sure so I thought I'd ask. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I had thought about bringing it back to original but it has had a hard life with moves and kids getting their hands on it so there is work to be done anyways. I kind of sealed it's fate on Monday anyways. Anovos had their sale on FO stormtrooper helmets and I "accidentally" hit add to cart on a full armour kit of a original stormtrooper as well. I will probably sidelining this project for a bit with the new suit coming but then again Q1 is still a bit of time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That would make a great display piece. I hadn't even thought of a Shocktrooper. The one thing I wonder about this lid is the size of the eyes. They seem a tad undersized and too far apart. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm not sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A way back in my younger days I purchased a DP standard. Now as I am thinking of doing my first build I have been giving it a good look over and I think I will start with a better foundation. Maybe Anovos. But that still leaves me left with the Don Post version. With the proportions and other work needed on it I got curious if this helmet could be a base for a different stormtrooper variant? If so which type? or is it even worth the effort?
