  1. Requesting 501st access. TK-93110. For some reason I'm not able to view the link for the new coin run that's out. https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=21233
  2. I'm in the market for some black compression pants but I see the Eastbay ones have some grey stitching. UA Heatgear has some printing on their waistband that might show under the armor. Any other recommendations?
  3. To the left is my son's small TK with snaps and elastic holding the bottom of the cod to the butt plate. Doing mods to my kit and wondering if this is the correct setup? Anyone have a pic they can share for placement?
  4. This is WTF kids sized ab armor I picked up for my son. I'm converting it over to a Sandy. I removed the button cover and have some work to do to fill the holes. I'm not looking for perfection. What works best? ABS paste? Something else? -Scott
  5. You're a fountain of knowledge. I thought I should have snaps to keep the belt in place. Will it stay in place without them. What do you use?
  6. Is there a resource as to where the snaps go on the abdomen? I'm working on the belt and don't want to put it together until snaps are in place.
  7. Need advice. See attached picture. Where do I trim to top of the Ab armor? In the pictures I marked a line about 1/8" in but I'm not sure if I should be trimming it on the edge so it doesn't have the right angle. I'm just afraid it will jab into my tummy if I leave it. So....overhang or no overhang? What say the pros? Thanks, Scott
  8. Perfect! You're both a fountain of knowledge.
  9. Doing some repairs to a kids TK suit I bought off the boards. Need new rivets on ab side. I think their called cold rivets. They're the same on each side and appear to be tapped together. No hardware stores seem to have them. Where can I purchase? Thanks for the help.
  10. Hello fellow Troopers! A friend of mine gave me an ABS Stormtrooper costume which he had displayed on a mannequin next to a sunny window. Long story short, it's got some serious yellowing on areas of the armor. It's ultimate destiny might be a Sandtrooper to cover up the yellowing but I wanted the professional opinions of the FISD. The costume needs some major love and I'm wondering if it's even 501st worthy. I stripped off all the old Velcro and cleaned up the gooey stuff it left behind. I'm not sure of the maker as there is no mention in the instruction book...although others have mentioned it's an old FX suit. Anyone know? Here are some other concerns: 1. The belt is solid ABS (no canvas) and permanently attached to the 'abdominal plate' by screws. What say the TK's to this setup? Can it be modified and put on canvas? (see the first few pics AND very last pic which is a scan from the manual) 2. Can I sand off the yellow discoloration? (see pic #7) 3. Are the buttons on the ab plate correct? 4. Helmet....get a new one? (see last few pics) My kids would love to play with this one but it doesn't have a liner inside. Where can I get a hard hat liner or padding? 5. Kidney and butt plate are one piece. Is that OK? (see pic #5) 6. Calf and thigh armor corners don't line up properly. File it down? (see pic 6-8) WOW! That was a lot. I'm well versed in the ways of the TIE Pilot but lacking in TK builds. What say the pros to my inherited armor? -Scott TI-93110
