  2. This thread has been a great help, thanks for all the pics!

Just one question.  Does the metal plate which attaches the yoke to the shoulder bells also serve to reinforce the yoke itself?  I would think it does, but you also did the reinforcement with plastic.

In just fitting my yoke and chest piece, it's already starting to develop a crack in it...just after one fitting :(

Not sure if I should go for the metal plate, or a simpler reinforcement.

  3. Just got my KB kit this week, too.  I'm in the same boat...my first build, not sure where to begin but this thread has helped already :)

Also, you guys mentioned ukswrath's build thread as a reference.  Having a hard time locating it...anyone have a link?

  4. Looking good, Brian! Where'd you source your F11D Rifle from?

Bought it from a fellow garrison member. Not sure where he got it. He bought it from someone.

I think we've got someone who made 3D printer files and shared them. The design matches from what Ive seen

  5. So, I've started a TFA trooper build.  I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I'm really looking forward to it.  I've collected some of the minor pieces (boots, gloves, undersuit, neckpiece, helmet, balaclava), but have not acquired the armor yet.  I'm working on that.

I also got a Rifle kit that I put together to get myself warmed up.  If anyone wants to provide feedback on the rifle, I'm open to it.  It's not a perfect build, so hopefully I didn't do anything irreversable.

(sorry if the pics are large)

  6. Thanks for the advice.  I might just have to make the OT trooper my first project.

I will say, in my 30+ years of fandom, the FO trooper is one of the coolest designs in Star Wars.  I think I'll have to go to an event first, see some of this stuff up close to get a feel for what's involved.

I've been reading a bunch of the different guides and stuff, a lot to take in.

  7. Hello,

My name is Brian and I just signed up with the Old Line Garrison Forums in Maryland.  I don't have a costume yet, so 501st membership is a long way away.

I came here to whitearmor to get some resources on building either a FO trooper costume (my first choice), or a classic trooper costume.

I've heard the FO kits are limited and hard to come by.  I have the Anovos FO helmet (http://www.anovos.com/products/star-wars-first-order-stormtrooper-helmet-accessory-standard-line-pre-order) and was hoping to use that as a jumping off point.

I'm nervous I'm getting in over my head with all this stuff!  I don't have any tools or much crafting experience to speak of, but I'm willing to try...I just don't want to muck anything up!  The more I can buy, the better, though I realize that I will most likely need to customize a bit to fit it.

Is there no hope of me obtaining FO armor?  Should I start with a classic trooper kit and go from there?  Any resources or advice to help me get started would be appreciated.  I'm a total newbie, and still learning the acronyms, techniques, and resources.  I've been a Star Wars fan for over 30 years and making a pro costume has been on my mind for a very long time (my dream costume is Vader, but I'm gonna wait on that one for a while).

I've read some of the guides and read-me threads, but some of them are old and I bet things have changed over the years.

    Thanks everyone!
