We may well end up doing that. The final choice will come down to cost and waitlist time
Paul,
Im in Oakville, I have contacted this person for fun about the armor, I do know of the builder and they have a bit of a bad rap here, as others have suggested stay clear of it and get something from a vetted builder.
Cant go wrong with AP, Mark is quick at getting orders out.. Just keep in mind his armor is one of the smallest available, he has made a new Ab plate to fit bigger waisted troopers (about 42 inches), but chest and back still remain tiny (40-47 inch chest). 5'8-6'1 150-200lbs and it fits like a glove,.. Any bigger RT-MOD or AM 2.0 is the best bet..
Hope to see you trooping soon, a lot of local members around to assist you..
Chris

Wow Jim, awesome work cant wait to see one in person...

Worst case she can Velcro the drop box straps to the belt as they are warped free floating as per the ANH used screen belts.

Personally i would stay away from tkarmour.com, for your size you have a lot of great vetted (approved) makers available to you..
TM, AM2.0, AP, WTF just to name a few.. see the thread below..

Glad I could help some. Not everything requires Velcro as some items just aren't moved around a lot too, but that's up to you.

Jawa looks awesome, but I think the TK is cooler on the body at least lol. Glad you got out and about in the armour, and was great to meet you. My wife says, "Hello!" Too lol
Great to meet you and your wife finally at the troop this weekend /wave

Not much left to do on my end, just time constraints now..
97% done in 27-30 hours total build time.. Maybe another 2-4 left in adjustments..

Mark (AP)
Roger that Mark i will swap them out with the ones you supplied..

Just an update on dollar store cotton gloves...dollarama doesn't sell these anymore. Various other dollar stores I've checked, don't carry them anymore either...
Yeah I noticed, I picked up gortex gloves from my local racing apparel shop.

Yeah using the quick set automotive e6000 sets In 5 min.. Easy to do both at the same time :-). Made good timing today. Tomorrow is finish assembly, add snaps, finish belt, sniper knee, all rivets, and ammo knee, maybe start building straps..
-
Awesome, cant wait to see this finished..

Welcome, looking forward to the progress updates

Don't worry Torok.. we'll sort it out And "Chilly" and I already spoke about the strapping etc.
Yup ive got everything needed to get it done (i always buy extra), thats not an issue.. Using CA can have it done in 2 days max (after trimmed and cover strips made) But i would prefer to use e6000 because you never know and i wouldn't CA any suit that wasn't mine...
So, after armor arrives i should have it ready for strapping in 3-5 days (Work depending) as Chris said, ill have it strapped in 30-60 min no problem. and then its just final fitting ect.. Easy as pie

Are they the screws you got with the AP kit? I just got EIB with those but they suggest they be replaced for Centurion. Close, but not perfect.
Sent from my SM-J100Y using Tapatalk
Yeah i was using the ones from AP but bought more to replace with from Lee Valley for centurion, Before i converted to the sandbox

Its a little off, I needed chest, back and bells, 49.5 inch chest AP was a tad too small.. i did post some comparisons in hard armor
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/37762-ap-vs-rt-chest-shoulders-comparison/
Last picture of the shoulder bells you can see the difference in shade of white as my AP chest and back were still weathered at this point..

Preston,
Good luck on your application, i feel your pain about the gaps around the chest and back.. I have already changed out the chest, back and shoulders for RTMOD..

Looking good David, good luck on centurion.
I also had the same issues with chest, back gaps but much worse(5+ inches).. Justin did a great job bringing his in as much as he could (you two are about the same dimensions), here is the post..
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/37297-shoulder-bell-sizes/?hl=gaps Post 7 and on..
Lee Valley Tools is another option for the screws, thats where i got mine..

Mysterious Blue Stains [AP armor]

I also had these on my armor before converting to Sandy, but now that im dirty it doesn't matter.. Anyone figure out what is the cause, ive seen a few locals have the same light blue marks all over their AP armor.. Novus plastic polish takes them right off though..
