About Me
I’ve always been mechanically inclined.
I spent a few years at Corellia StarDrive designing hyperdrive systems. That job ended when the rest of the design team was lost in a shuttle accident. Luckily for me, I was on vacation on Alderaan when that happened. I had to end my vacation early to attend the funerals. It’s sort of weird… I’d hate to say the accident was a GOOD thing, but it got me off of Alderaan just in time. You know what I mean? Unfortunately, when Corellian Engineering Corporation took over, my position was eliminated.
So, I bounced around for a while, eventually taking a part-time position on Tatooine at a small shop fixing power converters. I was buying broken droids from the local Jawas, fixing them, and selling them for a tidy profit on Utinni-Bay.
One day, I’m dumping my compost (and ONLY compostable stuff, I promise) into the Pit of Carkoon, when I see this guy dressed in Mandalorian Armor climbing out of the pit. He was in pretty bad shape, but refused to go to a medical center. I took him in for a while and helped him fix his jetpack. The guy’s name was Boba. You know what’s freaky? I’ve got an old hologram showing my dad with a Republic trooper named Fives. I swear, Fett could have been Five’s identical twin. But, I digress. Turns out, Boba used to be employed by Jabba the Hutt, but now was free to do his own work. He offered me a job working on his ship, and I took it.
We flew to a lot of places. He did his bounty hunter thing, and I made sure his ship was always in tip-top shape. It paid well, and the travel was great. I met a girl one day, and Boba and I both knew that this job was not a job for a married guy. We wished each other luck and parted ways. Shortly after, Boba hooked me (and my fiancé) up with great design jobs at Incom-FreiTek. That guy has friends in high places!
So, how did I wind up here? During my short stint with Incom, my wife and I were working on a classified project involving hyperdrives made from a titanium-chromum-unobtainium alloy (not the real name for the material, but it’s classified) when we created such a bend in space-time, that we wound up on Earth.
Today, I work in automotive design. It’s a lot less glamorous than hyperdrive design, but thanks to those pesky non-disclosure agreements I signed when working in hyperdrive design, I am not legally allowed to divulge any knowledge I gained in that field. Plus, this planet is missing adequate quantities of certain elements.
I don’t want Boba to come after me. He will know. Somehow.
