[Question about Hytektoyz Voice changer & Mic placement]

Hey guys, I will receive my armor the day after tomorrow and adding the voice changer to the helmet is really something I am looking forward to.

 

I understand that this Hytchtoyz kit is worth it, at least for the price, but the speaker isn't the best in terms of quality and placement. I am then considering buying the GHovic Mic from the member Ukswrath.

 

I have limited knowledge of electronics, would you think this modification would be easily done ? Would you recommend it ?

I can't imagine wearing a Stormtrooper bucket in the Thai heat and humidity.

I thought about it already, the helmet should be ok, but the underpants suits will be the killer I think..

Be sure to study the EIB and Centurion submissions in the Advanced Tactics section.  There, you'll be able to see Stormtrooper armor that is worn properly and built to the highest standards recognized within the Detachment.  This will empower you to shape your build in that direction as you progress with it.

I will check your link  Dark CMF. I have seen severals threads on the FX armor but to be honest, there is so much info that without the armor in hands, I get a bit confused ^^ Thanks a lot for the link and advices, I will study them thoroughly.

 

That's so cool, didn't realize Thailand had a 501st garrison.  My father is based at the US embassy in Bangkok, I'll have to ask him to be on the look out for Stormtroopers wandering about.

It seems to have very few foreigner in the Thai Garrison, maybe one or two. I will be happy to post the event I participate in. I pass in forn of the US Embassy everyday on my way to work so once I get my armor, I'll meet your father for a coffee

Hi to you all,

 

My name is Tibo, I'm French but living in Thailand for 6 years now. As others I guess, I promised myself years ago that one day, a Stormtrooper armor will be displaying in my apartment.

 

Recently I went to Comic Con Thailand and met the 501st Thailand. I gathered some infos and decided to take the leap of faith ^^ They help me find a FX armor with a SDS helmet that I should get next week, slightly modified already (but not yet assembled) to meet the 501st standard. That is what they were wearing at Comic Con and, to my eyes, it looked fantastic ! They were incredibly humble and cool and I was really attracted by the charity events and fundraising they do.

 

I spent already some precious hours here, trying to find my way through all the incredible ressources of info. I am very excited to start my project, my main motivation is to attend the Charity events and contribute the best way I can here, in Thailand.

 

I know it is not the best armor but I did not even plan to buy this FX so for an impulsive purchase, that is good enough. Also, I wasn't very keen on importing one as I have 50% chance, if not more, to be taxed by customs.

 

Anyway hope I am still worthy of the 501st once I have made all the work on the armor and looking forward for approval. Never done that, I live in an apartment so it will be a challenge to assemble everything without ruining the place

 

I'll probably have a lot of questions in the near future, now I am trying to learn as much as I can by reading the topics.

 

One more thing, I had connexion issues at the begnning and I would like to thanks the moderators or the IT guy who helped me fixing the log in issues. Very nice and fast support.
