Cashew,
I gave up Soda about a year ago. I lost about 7 pounds over the past year just giving up soda, I was around 210 back then.
I drink water most of the time but I also LOVE Original V8 juice and I have the occasional Lipton Diet Citrus Green Tea.
I had to radically change my diet, I eat 5-6 much smaller meals throughout the day. My weakness was pasta and bread.
I have mostly replaced sandwich bread with wraps using Corn Tortillas but I still do have the occasional sandwich with Whole Grain Wheat bread.
I have acquired an addiction to Dannon Light and Fit Greek Yogurts and have those every day for protein
For me this is all still a big experiment, especially trying to vary my healthy choices so I don't wind up having the same thing every day.

Cashew,
I know what you mean, two steps forward and one step back.
My wife keeps telling me to stop weighing myself every day.
Can't help it, I am a data guy, I need numbersLooks like you have made a lot of progress yourself.
As long as the overall trend keeps going down, the spikes don't bother me.- 1

Welcome to FISD!
Like all troopers before you, start here

If I am not mistaken an ATA helmet kit isn't too far off that price.
I would much rather give my support to FISD community armorers....

Have had it on 8-track, cassette, CD and now it is on my iPhone

How about 2 kids also with the same hobby
I am not only working on my own TK armor but helping my son with his Scout armor and my daughter with her Sabine armor
By helping, that means helping build and PAY for their armor
It is awesome though being able to share this hobby with them!

Not sure if this has been posted before but saw it today and thought I would share.
Rumors are hinting that Daniel Craig may play a Stormtrooper in TFA.

How about sewing in some white Velcro on the inside of the webbing in the boot and then making a strap to Velcro attached to the inside of the shin?
Should be invisible on the webbing of the boot and you won't have to run anything under your foot.
Just a thought

I don't think it's so much the look but this stuff holds elastic well to ABS.
Ahh, good to know. Trying to plan as much of my build as I can before the armor gets here.
Thanks and sorry to hijack your thread Stig

Just curious, could you get the same look with White E6000?

I started on a fitness plan about a month ago at a weight of 205lbs. My doctor recommended I get down to 180 due to my blood pressure.
I have actually found it more motivating trying to get my weight down for my first TK build
I am using an app called MyFitnessPal to monitor my diet and exercise. It has been great, for me it has made dieting much easier....
I will be ordering my armor [TM] the end of this month and I am thinking it should arrive end of June or early July.
My goal is to get as close to 180 lbs as I can before I start my first build. I have about two months to lose 15 lbs.
This was taken earlier this year at SC Comicon....
-
I sure hope not, will be 52 this year and my son and I are about to begin this adventure together...
He started talking about wanting to build Scout Trooper armor last year.
He did all his own research and decided on Studio Creations armor. We got him the helmet for Christmas.
He is piecing the rest of the soft parts and will likely get the rest of the hard armor for Christmas this year.
My armor fund is about 80% there, hope to order my ANH TK Stunt armor from TM in a month or so.
My son is not really into sports or tinkering with cars so I jumped at the chance to do this with him.
Hope to start our build thread here by June. The more we talk about it, the more I find myself feeling like a kid again
Got my Hyperfirm E-11 recently and it is hard to resist walking around with it making "pew pew pew" noises -
Joey, looking forward to it.
I haven't ordered my armor yet, shooting to get my armor and start the build no later than August.
I am shooting to have the build done and approved in time for the 2016 SC Comicon...
Hoping to get it done sooner than that but I plan to take my time with it...
BTW, have you joined the Carolina Garrison forums? I am bobio over there as well...

Definitely, I have been reading everything I can here. Just looked like an additional resource. I actually learned about the Blaster Builders forums from posts here...
Thanks

Anyone know how to contact an administrator over at the Blaster Builders Forums?
http://www.imperial-fleet.com/index.php
Tried to register there but never received the activation email so I cannot activate my account or log in there.I may be missing it but I see no way to contact an admin unless you are logged in
Thanks in advance!

Seems like a big leap to me based on a "general direction" even at the prices listed.
Price might be low now but it goes up after Celebration and then again after May 16.I am probably just too cynical but when something sounds too good to be true....
Tiered Pricing
CELEBRATION TIER - Ends May 4, 2015
Pre-orders taken prior to 11:59 PM CT on May 4, 2015 are pre-ordered at:
• Completed Ensemble: $1,200.00 USD. That's a savings of nearly 25% off the Initial Public Offering price!
• Kit with Completed Helmet: $350.00 USD. That's a savings of nearly 45% off the Initial Public Offering price!
Initial Public Offering Price - Ends May 16, 2015
After the CELEBRATION TIER concludes:
• Complete Ensemble: Pre-order becomes priced at $1,600.00 USD for the duration of the Initial Public Offering, which ends on May 16, 2015. Pricing after end of Initial Public Offering subject to change, including higher MSRP.
• Kit with Completed Helmet: Pre-order becomes priced at $650.00 USD for the duration of the Initial Public Offering, which ends on May 16, 2015. Pricing after end of Initial Public Offering subject to change, including higher MSRP. -
Gotta read the fine print on that pricing
It goes up to $1600 after Celebration.
After May 16, 2015 it states pricing subject to change so there is no telling what it will go to then...

Take it from another newbie, take a look at the Getting Started section!
There is a wealth of information there and should keep you busy for days reading
The vetted armorer list is also there which will give you an idea where to look.

Awesome builds and a GREAT story. Very similar to my own.
My son just turned 16 and he just recently started piecing together his Biker Scout armor.
We hope to be well into our dual builds over the summer...

Welcome Jazz!
Your best bet is to start here, there is a sticky thread that does list many of the armorers.

Not sure where you are from but you will also want to find your local Garrison...

Hope that helps and Good Luck
