    Well, time to dust off this thread and get my build back on track.  It has been way too long.  :(

    I spent the weekend fixing countless broken Photobucket image links here, Carolinagarrison.net and Bikerscout.net for both mine and my son's threads.

    What a mess, fortunately I had backups of everything.  I created an account on imgur and moved everything there.

    Anyway, I am really hoping to get both mine and my son's builds done by Dragoncon this year.

    I am looking forward to getting back into the build and I am sure I will have lots of questions over the next 6 months  :56pullhair:

    Going to be driving down with the family.  Trying to decide whether to brave parking at the Convention Center or arrange for transportation to and from with my gear.

     

    My thinking is it will be easier to deal with my gear if I bring my own vehicle but I have no idea how the parking situation will be.

     

    Any input or suggestions?  We could not get a hotel close to the convention center, we are staying over by Disney Springs...

  7. ANOVOS TFA Kit - thoughts?

    I was curious about the differences in the armor (plastic) itself between the standard and premium kit. 

     

    They said that the premium is all vac formed whereas in the standard kit some of the pieces are molded (their words)?

     

    Really torn between going for the premium kit over the standard kit but having a hard time justifying almost 4 times the cost.

     

    Would be interested in input from those with way more experience with these kits than I...

    Have you already purchased the Under Armor stuff?

     

    If not, here is what I found...

     

    The logos are minimal and should be easily concealed with black marker.

     

    With shipping they were $36.

    I lived in Orlando and the areas around it for most of my life.

     

    I am not even going to try and stay close to the convention center.

     

    We will be going for all four days and will likely stay more towards East Orlando, should be far less expensive.

    So.. before I go posting any pictures and info, basically a revamp, I want some feedback as to where everyone wants it. Should I post it here following the wiring diagrams or back on page 1 underneath the original post?

    More will probably see the new verion (who may not specifically be looking for it) if it follows the original version on page 1.

    The wife and kids accused me of stalking you guys :)  Was hoping to chat but every time we ran across you there was a line :(

     

    We are right down the road in Clemson.  I have a thread going on the Carolina Garrison forum hoping to get an armor party together at my place.

    Hey all,

     

    Anyone in the Upstate, SC area planning to attend SC Comicon?

     

    I will be there with my kids both days. The wife might even tag along on Sunday.

     

    Would love to put faces to some names, hope to see you all there!

     

    I had really hoped to have my build done in time for SC Comicon, too much else going on.

     

    I will definitely have it done by DragonCon!

     

    Anyone know of any armor parties coming up in the Greenville, SC or surrounding areas?

    John will sell just the board, I purchased mine from him that way.
     
    You will have to talk with him about it though as he does generally sell them as a complete package.
     
    Just be patient and remember that for many vendors this is a part time gig and they have lives outside the Empire :D
     
    Edit: found the emails from him when I ordered mine.  Here is what he quoted me.  It was a year ago so that may not be current pricing.
     

    I can do a ROM/FX Raw (no mic or speaker) if you do want one, they are £110 GBP plus shipping.

    Welcome James,

     

    I grew up in Winter Haven, spent most of my youth on those lakes water skiing and boating.

     

    I graduated from Winter Haven High in '81...

     

    I still go through town when we are down that way for the mandatory stop at Andy's Igloo for a banana shake :)
