I will give you the best advise I can when it comes to any hobby.
Start by finding exactly what you want, every bit and piece, and every other piece that is simply a want. Take all of that information and write it down somewhere with price and where you found it (I do Excel spreadsheets), then figure out what the grand total for EVERYTHING you could ever want will be. Now, sit down and look at your paychecks and your monthly bills to figure out what you have left over. Take part of that left over and put it away somewhere that you wont touch it. I call this my extra fun money. Save, save, save, and save again until you hit a point that you can sit back down and look at what you can afford and decide, "Do I want to keep saving to get these parts too or do I want to spend what I have on this stuff now?"
The best part is that money is always there in the event something comes up that has to be paid for right away (unexpected bills, etc). I use this for almost all of my hobbies, expensive or not, and it has actually helped me get to a point where when I counted the other day I can afford to get everything I want for my TK build right off the bat in one big shot.

This thread is great for guys who are budgeting out their TK. I went a little different route than most when setting up my budget for a build tho. I figured out everything I wanted and how much I needed to have set aside to make it happen and I saved. Little by little I would take some cash from my paychecks and put in my fun money box until I was over the amount I actually estimated as the bulk of my kit is coming from over seas so you have to take in account the exchange rate fluctuations. Thankfully I dont need to purchase any tools as I already have way to many for my toolbox and I work in a metal fab shop.

The shop I work at used to ship parts international until customs in some countries would tie up the packages for weeks thus causing the customer to blame us. Since then, the best thing we have found is a company called Bongo.com for international shipping. You (the receiver) set up an account with them, the shipper sends the items to a US address, then Bongo takes care of exporting the items from the US to you.

And to add to my last post; I was going through the Centurion threads looking at other peoples RS armor that has been approved when I came across this one. 6'3" and 230 lbs in RS.

RS says there should be no issue with my height and I'm 6'4". They just wont do any assembly for someone that tall.

So glad I found this thread. Will be ordering my ICOMM/Aker setup tomorrow and I was worried about my big nugget and the mic that comes with the Aker. Now I will also be ordering a throat mic for the setup and it just so happens I have a GoPro chest rig laying around that I can mount it to. I think that would be best as my local garrison does a lot with smaller groups of children where I don't want to be carrying it around. Plus the weight will be on my body and not on my armor.

Well my first brown box showed up at the door today. Lets see what we have here.

Crappy cell phone pic, but here they are, my new TK boots.
Mouth is nice and large so its easy to get my big feet in and they feel great. Dr. Scholls will be getting a call from me however to get rid of the small amount of heel lift when I walk.

Well the time has come, and by weeks end I will have my RS armor ordered. I do already have some smaller parts on the way to my house because I was lacking patience to order all of the small stuff at one time. The plan is to build it to Centurion specs right off the bat with the help of those on the FISD, as well as the local Centurions in the Dune Sea Garrison. Pictures will start being posted as items start showing up at my door. This is going to probably end up being one of those builds that goes through a few rolls of tape to get it right as even RS is not comfortable pre-building my suite due to my height. Hopefully in the end I can help some of the other tall guys looking for armor as well.
I will also be diving into the electronics at some point in this thread with Echo's fan system, an EAS system, and ICOMM/Aker setup. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted all of that in my bucket, but after seeing Dark CMF's build here:
I knew I had to have them.

Wondering what you guys do for socks when trooping. I know its a wierd question, but I am a cyclist as well so I have an oddly large collection of socks going on.

Heat gun or hair dryer?
Either one should work. Just keep in mind that a heat gun is going to get really hot, really fast. Hair dryer will take longer to heat up the plastic, which could be good or bad depending on your patience.

If you send the AM 2.0 guy an e-mail. He'll send you back the measurements the armor comes with. Unless all of your weight is in your gut, you might not need to shim anything. I can PM you the e-mail address if you want. Maybe not so much with a few makers, but it seems like with most armor there is some length of waiting, everybody seems to say RT-mod is worth the wait.
When I emailed RT, Rob let me know that he was not taking any new orders for 2015 due to being booked through the end of the year. I'm glad that he is that buisy, however, I do not plan on waiting until mid next year to start building my TK. I have seen a bit of the AM 2.0 on the forums but honestly it seems to be designed more for the trooper who has more horizontal than vertical.
The (non-FX/AM) buckets are pretty much the same size, although the width of the opening is dependent on how you trim/build it.
As for the armor itself, the standard line around here is that any armor can be made to fit any physique. Yes, RS will take your measurements and build you a suit. The disclaimer (or at least MY disclaimer) is that at your size, you are going to have to live with some compromises. By "compromises" I mean there is no way you are going to look like a guy who is 5'9", 160lbs, and skinny. You will have a TON of black undersuit showing at the knees, hips, waist (depending on your waist size) upper and mid-back, shoulders, and elbows, and your cover strips that bind the clamshell halves of the arms and legs together will be quite large.
In 6th grade accepted the fact that I will never look or be built like someone who is 5'9" and 160lbs however I still wish to serve the 501st and the FISD. As far as the fitment of the RS kit, when I have been talking to them the guys in the workshop don't feel like there will be any problems with the kit as long as I take the time to build it correctly.

I emailed Rob at RT-Mod a few days ago about some armor. He responded saying that currently he is not taking any new orders as he is booked until the end of the year with builds.

Wondering if any of our larger troopers are wearing RS armor and buckets? I got in contact with RT-Mod but he is not taking any more orders this year according to his email and RS is my second choice. They seem to think that off of the measurements I sent there should be no problem with my size but I wanted some opinions from the FISD.
Note: I am 6'4" and about 250 lbs American

You would be correct, the Hero helmet only had 6 teeth cut out and bubble lenses, where as the Stunt , 8 teeth and a flat lens material.
Basically the Hero bucket was a cleaned up version, used in close up shots and the style that Luke and Han wore.

Taping off sections will take less time than getting the over spay off the outside of your bucket. Especially between the teeth and corners of the eyes.
