  1. Looking for 501st and Detachment access for my newly approved TKC. Didn't realize I hadn't posted for 501st access back in the day when I first got approved. So now, Two womprats, one blast. http://501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=18590(general 501st profile) http://501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=18590&costumeID=139(TKC link) Thanks, Chris "Darth" Cashman TK-42013
  2. I've almost got it to where I think I'm done cutting and will just sand the rest of it right. My friend told me just measure twice cut once... told him I'd rather cut a bit more than that. Its getting there.
  3. Thanks. I found a how to assemble thread on the florida forum, it has some good interior shots that I am using. right now I'm taking off the major bits of excess with some curved tip scissors. figure that's a lot safer for me than using the dremmel for now. Since this will turn out more of a backup kit for me I'm not overly concerned about a few snafus so long as they aren't super visible. We shall see.
  4. So this isn't exactly TK armor since its for my IG, but I am using ATA TK chest/back/shoulder straps in black ABS for this build. I have to trim off the excess of course. In some parts its pretty easy to see where the mold lines stop and where the excess starts. In other places, not so easy to tell. I have skimmed through the forums and a few how to videos on youtube, but I'm still very afraid to take that dip. Don't want to cut too much off and cry myself to sleep until I can afford a replacement. So, is there a good resource/tutorial on trimming. IE how much should be left on the armor after the trim for the 'lip' so to speak? thanks in advance. Darth Cashman
  5. It happens. But with three other kits coming (from reputable makers) I think I'll be ok. not like I really have room for TK armor right now anyway, not even sure where I will store the others.
  6. I got duped too...doh. I actually blame it on medicine...and impatience. Apparently restless leg medicine cause binge shopping. Who woulda thunk. Fortunately I went to FAC for my other kits (TI kit should be in mid month). Unfortunately, if return shipping is anything close to what I paid for it to get to the US, its hardly worth the refund I'd get. I knew ahead of time from reading the CRLs and such that I'd need to get a bunch of extras and knew I'd have to assemble it so I have ordered glue and already have the under suit, boots, gloves, and other accessories from trooperbay, so I've kinda got a lot invested already. Not sure if I want to try to tackle the work to get it passable, after buying a new helmet at least, and although I'd only be able to get level 2,I know its possible. Or if I want to try to sell it for a bit of a loss, making sure to let the buyer know its not 501st worthy and that its FX. Maybe someone would buy it for a costume party or something. And use that money for a better kit. Just not sure what to do about it. Like I said I have some quality kits from FAC coming soon so either way I'll be in the 501st. Edit: decided to bite the bullet and return it to him as soon as it arrives. That way I don't even have to worry about unpacking/repacking.
