  1. so i bought the set....color was fine..i’d say stick with all black underwear too...they can be a lil on the sheer side especially under photos with flash...but great bargain..i have two sets..and the eastbay ones as well.

    Thank you for the input!

I'll make sure to wear some underwear with these pants ;)

BCG is good, Starter brand at Walmart is good, too. About the same price for either.

I actually don't have a Walmart close to where I live (I know crazy, right?!).

But next time I'm in Walmart I'll look for the Starter brand.

I just ordered academy and it's nice and black. Ordered a set for a friend to score free shipping.

I did the same, but I ordered 2 different sizes because I was a bit unclear on what size I would really need.

I use Hanes nylon thermal undershirt/pants that you can pick up at Target/Walmart for less than $30 for both.

    Hanes, interesting.

Next time I'm in Target I'll have to check those out.

I use BCG. Can't complain at all, except i need to buy more leggings before they go out of stock

Yeah, for the price and free shipping I too was thinking of buying a few more pairs just to have extras.

  2. Welcome Tim, to the Dark side!

    Thank you! :)

    Tim!

Welcome to the GGG buddy. Can't wait to have you in the ranks! I'm down on San Jose but armor parties have been known to happen at my place. If you have time lets set something up the next few weeks!

    Thank you!

That sounds great, currently there is a 5 week wait for the AP armor, so we might have to meet up in a month or so.

Once I get my AP armor I will contact you to try and set up an armor party with other GGG members :)

  3. I kinda went crazy with these undersuits and went and bought them all...

All the websites accept returns and when it was all said and done I probably will only loose around $15 in shipping charges, not too bad of a loss to be able to compare them all side by side.

Just so theres a record, I also bought:

EASTBAY EVAPOR LONG SLEEVE COMPRESSION CREW

Men's UA ColdGear® Evo Compression Mock

  4. I just started using this set myself. They look and fit great. There is definitely a color difference. The bottoms are totally fine. The top is slightly grayer than the bottoms. Having said that, under the armor, no one would ever notice. Not even myself when looking in a mirror. After having done a ton of research on undersuits, this option definitely provides the most bang for your buck hands down. The only downside is that they don't ship outside of the US. A member of Titan Garrison was kind enough to receive them for me.

I can provide pics of me with my armor on if you want to see how it looks.

    Thank you for the input!

Feel free to post your pictures if you would like :)

  5. Tim, looking forward to hearing what you think about it. Went to the site and saw they also had a cold weather version. For those of us living in the arctic tundra that is now the Midwest  :D

Here in sunny CA I think the coldest it gets is around 65 ;)

I hope the colors match, on the FISD I read someone having a slight color variation, but it might have been just from different batches.

  6. Since Eastbay has changed the stitching on their compression pants, I've been browsing the FISD trying to find a compatible 2 piece substitute.

I stumbled across the Academy website I think these look pretty good (Good price, no logos and black stitching):

    BCGâ„¢ Men's Compression Tight

    Does anyone use these?

Could you recommend any other brands?

  7. Howdy Tim from the other side of the Bay.

I understand about the lesser known cities. As I live in San Leandro but usually say San Francisco or near the Oakland airport.

All the Garrisons are great for local support and when you are ready, a source for some trooping, 501st style.

Just keep in your mind..."if Adam can do it, so can I!" :)

    Hey, and thank you!

Once I get all the parts hopefully the GGG can have an Armor party.

It would be great to meet people in my garrison as well as get some help putting it all together :)

  8. I can suggest mine which are made thicker than the trooperbay version.

and mine are 30 plus shipping?

Just checked them out! $30 cheaper + look great, I'm sold!

I just PM'd you about details.

I have one from Vern and They are great.

    Awesome, great to hear!

I would suggest you look at this thread:

    http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/20869-combined-on-going-accessories-listing/

there is a section for holsters and you can PM the makers and post in the threads to shop around and find the best deal for you.

Bookmarking this page, great to see a complete list of all the runs being done.

  9. Greetings Tim, and welcome to the FISD!!!

If you browse the EIB/Centurion applications, you'll be able to see all of the different armors and accessories that people use, along with some very useful information like the size of the trooper in question. This will help you to become more familiar with the accessories, as I said, and allow you to see what details get scrutinized during the review process.

Don't hesitate to ask questions. We were all new at one rime.  ;)

Thank you so much, I just found this area of this website today and it is an amazing source of information!

Hi Tim, welcome to the FISD, looks like other Tim has you covered.

Hey, and thank you! yep it looks like I'm on the right track so far.

  10. Tim, yeah I have seen the vintage figures from time to time. Amazing sculpts and I love the increased articulation. One of the things I always hated about the re-introduced line back in the 90's. I'm a little bit torn about jumping back into the arena after so many years, Lord only knows what I am missing..... I keep telling myself that I can just start collecting Troopers..... but every collectors knows, they are like M&M's, you can't stop with just one......  B)

Haha, yep yep. I have a huge collection and I totally know what you mean.

  11. welcome tim, when you start your build don't be afraid to ask any questions, we are here to help.

Thank you all, I actually do have a question about the Authenticprops (AP) Blaster Holster + Gloves he offers.

I have no idea what is good or bad, I bet they are good, and the price is fine.

But is this what most people use? are there better ones that I should buy?

    Thank you,

    Tim

  12. Hello and welcome aboard

    Hey and thank you!

Welcome aboard future trooper from my home town!

Hey and thank you, also nice to find someone that actually knows about Burlingame! Most of the time I say I'm from San Fransico or San Mateo since Burlingame is quite small compared to them.

Welcome Tim, I'm a newbie as well so I thought I would say hello. I'm also a collector as well, and have all of my original figures (beginning in 77) going through the early 2000's. Then life interrupted and I have been out of it for awhile.

Hey, nice to find a fellow collector! If you are interested in getting back into collecting SW figures take a look at the Vintage Collection. Hasbro just end the line about a year ago, but every figure in that line is beautiful.

Hey Tim, welcome to the FISD!

    Hey and thank you!
