Looking at the shape of the straps, I would suggest they are meant for connecting the handguards to the forearms and for holding it in place while wearing a glove.

Working in my to do-list
I felt the need to paint the soles of my boots white, since RotJs hat white soles (in general).
So here we go:
- brushing the soles clean
- taping the leather so no paint comes onto it
- spraying
- finished!
There is still some cleaning up to do, but I'm quite satisfied with it.
Next thing wil be the inner dropboxes.

I would try 4 small magnets in the corners.
Then you can pull them apart easily, in my theory,

Whoa, I've missed to reply to my own thread!
Thank you all for your kind words.
And I have some news for you:
My first troop will be in 2 weeks and I hope to write a report for the FTE.
For this troop I want to upgrade my boots with white soles and add some fans to my helmet (on the way).
Last but not least are inner dropboxes.
I want them to be "unseful", so I'm working on a way to open the dropboxes without any noticable modification.
Really looking forward to wear my suit!

Wow, you fill out this armor better than me
Just one thing (you will notice later, when you are completely assembled),
your back plate is a bit too high.
Again, great progress!

I used patex plastic glue gel.
I personally prefer the gel glues because they are more solid

Whoops, totally forgot about that!
If it doesn't fit together perfectly, just allign the two halfes at the top and see how it looks at the bottom.

I've got that gap, too, so I would say it's allright.
Looking good!

It's all about bad light and/or bad camera.
Huuuuge difference.

Cool!
I've got some of that, too.
When I'm home, I'll post them.
So much evidence...

Nothing more to say.
To switch subjects,
I'm not 100% satisfied with my setup.
I still need cotton gloves for the inside, otherwise I can bathe in sweat
Then I would like to finally paint the soles the color they should be, white.
Fans are also an essential part, that is still missing, but I am working on that.
At last, I need to work out a solution for my sides.
When I'm walking they still pop out, thanks to the fact that I'm a little to skinny for a Stormtrooper ( ).
It's a shame, but I will have to break with the original strapping and add two extra pieces of Abs to make it stable.
More information an pictures when it is finished and working
I can keep myself busy and another project should be coming later this year

On June 11 it's going to be 6 weeks without any reply.
I wrote 2 nice mails, one with more reference pictures, the second asking for updates.
Maybe the organization of the huge Legoland Event took a lot of attention.
I will wait until the end of this week.
If there is still no reply, I'll contact the LMO.
I'm a nice person to the bone, but I habe to draw a line somewhere.

Oh that was it!
Thank you
So I guess, if you are carefull you can use hotglue?

I did it with hotglue, but someone once told me that hotglue is not a good to the abs.

I used an industrial one to set my heat (350 degree celsius)

If you're afraid to trim to much,
heat it up carefully an press it flat.
I had to do that, too, on one thigh.

I really like your shoulder bells!
In general it looks really good.
Just one thing:
The velcro on you back plate is visible and it may cause some problems during approval.
Maybe your back plate wasn't in place or it is too long,
but I would clean it up
