Hello Everyone! I joined FISD last month (October 2013) and within a couple weeks, I purchased my first build kit - TK Helmet from FISD member "Scootch". I hope my topic here will inspire new troopers and get feedback from the 501st members. I have never done this before however, I'm a facilities worker by day (electrician...HVAC.. handyman.....etc..etc..etc...) so I already had the tools to get start with. I've put in my free time during the weekends to slowly start this project.

Welcome! I just started last month here on FISD and i'm on the wait list with RT-Mod. I hope to get my first armor kit by July 2014. Yes, I have to wait nine months. But from what I read here on the forums, RT-Mod is a credited armor maker for heavy guys like me.

I forgot to add: I will be using the decals, but..... 1. What primer should I use to paint the whole helmet? 2. How many coats of primer? 3. What color white? Is there a specific brand? 4. Should it be glossy or matte? 5. How many coats of white?

Hello! I got my helmet from Scootch last night and I wanted to get a shopping list together before I stop by Home Depot, Lowes, Michaels, and anywhere else that sells paint. Can you share me a recommended list? Here's a picture of my build. Yes, I'm starting from the beginning (this is my first build). Please feel free to add any brushes or specialty tools. Thank you! Btw... I have all the cutting tools already (sandpaper, magnets, clamps, hot glue, etc...etc...etc..). Just need the paint and brushes list (like primer...Krylon...etc..etc..etc..).
