New resin ordered as i had no luck with the plyester and am going with a polyurethane clear 1 to 1 mix , as they are so small it was too difficult to get the small amount of catalyst needed for the right cure with the polyester. Should be with me in the next couple of days
-
Soory again here for the delay on this,I am all done bar the clear resin parts for the scope. I received a new supply but the cure times have been Highly excessive like 2 days !!! Am onto the manufacturer to try and remedy the problems and if i have no luck i will have to try another supplier, sorry again and apologies for the delays here ....coming soon for sure

Thanks Paul!
Steve - Gesso is a thick acrylic surface prep usually used for acrylic and oil paintings. It acts as a sealant and protects the foam from chemicals that could destroy/liquefy the foam such as most aerosol paints, most commercial fiberglass resins, and even E-6000. It can be found in art supply shops, and price makes no difference (i.e. cheap stuff works just as well as the expensive stuff).
Cool thanks for letting me know I will have to give it a try

As John said dont take prop store as 100% , they recantly had an E11 for sale with an M38A2 scope on it saying it was 100% accurate, this could possibly be a base gun and the parts were added after filming, the scope is sitting a lot further back than any i have ever seen before.
Another possibility is that most props get damaged to hell in filming and parts may get replaced , put in the wrong place or exchanged for the nearest thing. My policy is if it doesnt come with a pic of it on film then its not proved.

Looks awesome and a very interesting approch using the foam, whats the sealer gesso that you used , not familiar with this product in the UK whats it made from and is it painted on ?

New mold for the scope worked out fine so just have the diffuser to mold that goes in the scope lens. Will be going to the post office on saturday to get shipping prices so should be good to go for begining of next week. I will get a few sets molded over the weekend as well so they are ready to ship straight away.

Hi guys , thanks for you mails and I will reply wth details as soon as i am ready to ship. I will also need to get to the post office with a parcel to get shipping costs to europe and the US. The only shipping I have available will be by our royal mail airmail ,but it will be insured and also trackable if needed.
Here are some pics of the parts as promised -
and with the masters
I wasnt happy with my first mold of the M19 so its back in the silicone !!
I will get back to you as soon as i have an update.
cheers
Steve

Hi guys , the scope is still in silicone waiting to dry!! Did a 2 part mold and the second side is taking ages to dry but it should be ready tommorow to do a first cast from. Have started casting all the greeblies so i have a few ready ( 3 sets so far) when they are available and i will take some pics tomorrow and post them up.
I was thinking of doing these kits for £22 gbp with scope and £18 gbp without as some of you may already have an M19 already. If anyone wants any individual parts just let me know. I should be able to start shipping these by the end of this week so maybe post up if you are interested. I dont like taking money until i have the stuff ready to go so just post up your interest and when i have them ready I will let you know individually. thanks for your patience
PS i will find out shipping costs asap as well.

ROTJ version.
ANH is MK iv
ESB is century arms sterling replica.
correct?
ROTJ was the MGC (model gun corporation)replica of the canadian C1 sterling but i have seen recently a few ESB stunt resin E11 in the endor scenes , yep MKIV in ANH ,and i think there were some in ESB as well as the replica CA ones.
-
If its any help for other members I use plastic electrical conduit cut in half and riveted on -
heres it on a finished blaster-
-
Looks like the base is a casting from an MGC sterling as it has the grip and receiver and the 4 bolts in front of the ejection port as well as an MGC ejection port, it has been modded to look like an ANH E11 with the rail ands scope etc, would be worth converting to a ROTJ E11 though as you have a good base there
I would say its a fan made conversion.
-
Thats an ESB stunt E11 there on endor !! thanks for posting this i never knew they used them in ROTJ as well, the ESB stunt was used as reference for the ROTJ E11 but they must have used a few on the movie as well.
heres some great hi res pics of the ROTJ e11 (the commonly known one ) that is based around the MGC sterling, theres another on page 2 as well -
