  1. I'm sure I have seen one of those scopes (pictured above) on eBay it was listed as a WWI monocular. It looked the spit of the M19 but no feet. Don't think anyone brought it.

ROTJ scope was not a found item but made from a cut down long scope riveted into plastic cup or lid of some kind with a mahined greeble on the end , it was then attached to the rail with a weaver scope ring. If you look at the the han Solo ROTJ Dl44 in magic and myth its just the scope part as the cup must have been broken off in filming or lost perhaps :( Also the Han Solo has a larger diameter scope end I thinksuggesting they were made from diffeent scopes they had lying around and cut down.

  2. Hi guys , as far as i am aware the only scope used on ESB E11s was the M19 or 32 , this is on stunt and hero versions, there could have been M38/ 40s on some of the hero E11s but without any proof ( blurays forthcoming) this is the current accurate scope. Although considered the snowtrooper blaster the stunt was used in the Bespin scenes as well by TKs. here's a pic of pugmans ESB stunt and you can clearly see it is an M19 or 32 ( hope this is OK to post sir ) it has the side adjuster and the forward foot is connected to the bottom of the front section , on all the others its behind this on the start of the back section as it cones out. I see what John means it does look longer from the other side but this could be the angle or down to the casting, its at least 2nd generation possibly more.

    hope this helps chaps :)

  3. Agreed vern its lotsa fun

Here's the thing guys , when i first got into this hobby i bought a few props that were supposedly accurate , as i learned more I found they were not and ended up being dissapointed with them. If you went on a troop with one of these someone is gonna eventually point out all that is wrong with them, thats fine if its advertised as an approximation of an e11 blaster and you wont be annoyed but its not saying that and its up to some to point that out.

  4. PM sent Rob :)

Skunky i now dont like you unless of coarse you wanna sell the MGC sterling :P

Where did you find that dude ,bet it was pricey !! I missed out on one last year by 2 weeks , the guy sold if for £100 ....I nearly cried :shok:

PS some great reference pics here for the MGC-http://www.modelguns.co.uk/sterling_L2A3.htm

  5. What vern said

he's right ,they look good but loads of innacuracies on the e11s ...all of them! and the DL44s are wrong too they are M32 mausers ( airsofts by the look) and not the 1896 broomhandle that was used in the movies.Sorry but if they say they are accurate and they are not ....its up to nerdy blaster nuts to say  Not saying your nerdy or a nut Vern ;)

They even have the link to the parts of star wars website and they are not accurate to what is up there !

  6. none of the resin scopes I have have EVER had any casting sprue. the seam line is usually non existant on doopy do scopes.

since he uses the glove mould concept, not a 2 part mould.

    it's obviously a piece of T Track.

steve, for one single time in all this blaster work I have to respectfully disagree with you on this point.

    it's clearly a T Track.

I can see where your coming from Vern but it looks to be an oblong block and i cant see a t shape there, then again my eyesite is pants !! lol

Regarding the molding we ask for a better casting on our props for display and costuming and cast the other way round so as not to lose the lettering and detail on top of the scope , on the movies they were only background props so they didnt need to have the amount of detail we require, they may have stuck the blocks on the original scopes before casting and inverted the scope in a i piece mold ,some may have been cut off and some were'nt......maybe :)

  7. I think turrican has got this right and they are excess resin from molding the scopes, i have an M19 and an M38 and both came on the mounting brackets and neither had this part on, all the scopes i have seen for sale have not had it either , some of the scopes in the pics dont have it and their are M19s and M38s pictured so it seems the right explanation.

    Good call turrican B)

  8. the site has no information on the variations for ESB, of which there are 4, and they also don't detail the differences between ANH, ESB and ROTJ.

They have 2 vesions of ESB e11s there vern , the stunt is in the snowtrooper section and under IG88 neural inhibitor , these are the only 2 recognised and canon versions. The differences ,although a little out of date, of all the versions are listed there ANH , ESB and ROTJ. B)

  9. Some of the info is out of date as new finds are made ,main one that comes to mind is the flash suppresor on the ANH Dl44 which was then thought to be a fire extinguisher nozzle but was in fact an MG51 flash hider from Luftwaffe aircraft.

Most of the info on E11s is very good though and they even identified every different version of e11 used in ANH, there's even a handy chart :) Could do with a few more reference pics but on the whole its a great resource.
