Hey guys... So I Cut the Kidney/Butt plate into 2 pieces, My question is I added snaps to 3 spots and it seams to poke out / bulge out how ever you wanna say it from the back about 1/2 inch or so not sure if you can tell from the photo... Is this an Issue ? and if so how can one correct it and make it look better ? Is the Gap to big for the to Plates ? The snaps are just attached to Backpack strap material not Elastic, should I switch it out with elastic ? Thanks for any Ideas Vince

Well I cut the Kidney / butt plate into 2 pieces, now just adding snaps to keep them together then will address the Top of the kidney plate & chest plate... Will the Over hang of the chest plate and kidney plate be an issue getting approved for Basic ? Only notice for Level three does it call for no overlap... For level three certification (if applicable): Back plate shall have no, or minimal overlap of the kidney plate. Ideally the AM/FX style back plate should be replaced with a more screen accurate type. If using an AM/FX style back plate it shall have no, or minimal overlap of the kidney plate. and shall be reshaped to emulate a screen used back plate by properly trimming and re-shaping (stretching) the left and right edges of the armor to contour to your body. Note: There is currently no tutorial available for this, but you can see an example of this Mod and visual comparison at whitearmor.net As for the shoulder bells, I was Just following the 501st CRL as close as I can for Basic and maybe level two status... For level two certification (if applicable): Ideally no shoulder bell straps across the biceps.If there is a shoulder bell strap, it shall not be visible across the biceps.

Hey Guys, Going to modify my FX back plate, I know i need to Cut it into 2 pieces...So just wanna know if these are the 2 spots i can cut & trim the kidney and butt plate... Figure I need to cut the butt plate right underneath were the Belt with rest... the second Cut or Trim would be Right below were the Back of the chest plate rests, it over laps the kidney plate by about 2-3 inches, would it be easier to cut the kidney plate so I have that small gap ?? Just like the CRL pic...

Those must be a new pull, the ones I got from ATA are maybe an older version kinda bulky

Okay got the Belt All figured out, including inclosing the boxes, Now can someon epost pics of there Hand Plates ?? I have to trim out mine and wanna get it right the first time ! I haven't really seen any good reference pics to follow. thanks

So on the ESB mic tips we can Paint the inside black as well ?? and thats fine for Approval as long as the fronts "rims" are weathered "white" thanks

Okay, received my ATA helmet kit, with all the parts including the S trim...should be getting my ESB decals from trooper bay soon, Got my Canvas belt the other day, Now i just need to spend a couple of days putting things back together and updating... I will post a picture later but am not sure how i can go about building the canvas belt, The FX belt that was on my suit was attached to the ab plate with 2 bolts on either side, now my ab plate and belt plastic piece has 2 holes, should i just follow the same method and bolt back on the new canvas belt ? would that be fine ?

Thanks Craig, Got a pair of ESB hand plates coming for ATA with the Helmet I had ordered.... Guess I can Order the ESB decals from Trooperbay, or ask them if they make them for a ATA helmet Ordered a Canvas belt , should be here this week All ready switch out the Old Black buttons with the New Grey & Blue ones... Am getting there...Will post pics when am done to make sure I didnt miss anything. Thanks guys

Hey guys...New Guy here trying to make a 501st worthly trooper... I got a set of FX Armor for a decent price, I know, I know....what your going to Say and Yes I have Ordered a New ATA helmet kit, it's coming this week haha I have read the post on Updating FX armor to be approved and even to get (EIB) status... here is were I am on it so far.. 1. Swtitching out buttons on the Ab plate to the right grey & blue colors 2. Ordering a New canvas belt this Week 3. Cutting the butt plate into 2 pieces and adding snaps 4. Shimming the side gaps Looks like i need to find ESB Hand plates...any idea were i can get some ? what else should i do or need to do to be ESB trooper ? i noticed the helmet is slighly different than others as far as painting the Frown all black. Noticed also the holster for the blaster is on the Right side and dosent need to be Riveted in just loop'd on.. Thanks so much for any Help or suggestions Vince

Hello, I'm kind of a Slimmer Guy so, Just wondering how to make the Armor more form fitting ? Can I add Foam Padding to the inside of the armor pieces so that it doesnt feel like it's all moving around & clunky. Any suggestions would be greatly appreiacted ! Thanks Vince
