  1. Yep, they were shooting blanks. I thought this was common knowledge. There are a few scenes in ANH where you can see the 9mm casings ejecting from the blasters.

In most of the firefights you can also see muzzle flashes. It's especially obvious in the screen caps caught at the instant a trooper is firing his weapon.

  2. It's more about girth than height, and any armor can be made to fit just about any frame. 175lb is about mid-range from what I've seen.

There's a trooper by the name of Bigturc who is about 6'4", he wears AP. His photos are posted in the gallery, if you take a look you'll get some idea as to how that particular armor will look on you.------------

  3. Welcome. Listen to Ryan and Manny, you should.

Seriously, a good spotter is hard to come by, and the SoCal Garrison does some of the coolest events possible. Movie premieres, guest spots on television (think Deal or No Deal), etc. Not to mention year-round trooping weather.

Makes me envious just thinking about it . . .

  4. What's the thickness of the ABS on these? Is it 0.060 as I recall from an earlier thread when Dan unveiled it, and will the armor be of the same material & thickness? Also, does Dan have any idea when he'll have the full armor kit available? Bottom line, are these troopable kits or display-only?

OMG! That desktop 3D scanner in the video is amazing! That machine that actually created the plastic parts is freakin' mind-blowing, and it uses ABS!!! My dream of having a screen-accurate TK kit that's been scaled up to fit the big guys just got a lot closer. Tony/TE2, please watch this!

    :D
