  1. I completely disagree. The ability to cancel my order before it shipped was the main factor in deciding to order. This armor is unknown. Quality wise and accuracy wise. I would much rather have the ability to cancel before it's shipped to me than have to go through the hassle of trying to sell it on my own. if it's crap, then selling it will be an issue for sure. Changing the policy this late in the game is not right in any way.

That being said, I don't expect this armor to be crap but there is always that possibility. I ordered late Tier one to have the chance to see peoples reaction and have time to cancel. so yeah, I'm a little put out by this but not enough to cancel now.

  2. Technically, neither has shipped to customers just yet. The notification is for the generation of shipping LABELS as mentioned in the recent ANOVOS email. However, FO helmets may indeed arrive at customer homes before the New Year (Christmas if you're really lucky).

Since I haven't received a shipping notification for my FO bucket, I'm guessing I am unlucky as far as a pre Christmas delivery is concerned. That's ok. really looking forward to it. I have a pending move so I just hope my OT TK kit and FO bucket get to me before mid January!

  3. Nope, according to the email, ANOVOS says it comes pre-built, as does the belt/holster:

I suspect that this means the TD might also be actually bolted to the belt, which means relocating the TD clips might expose holes in the belt. Not sure about this, though.

I would think it's not pre attached. too many differences in waist size to be sure it would be centered on the trooper

  4. They are aware of the concern, but unless we want to delay things further, it's better just to leave it and maybe they can adjust it on the next run. As mentioned, looks like a simple tweak that will only affect higher levels of approval. Glad that it meets base requirements out of the box.

I think it would be fantastic if they change it on the next run and every run going forward. or just not build it. But wouldn't be a hugh deal if they did not.

  5. It was just velcro'd. I didn't like it because it was tough to keep it close together and also showed a much bigger gap. And yes, the square end of the greeblie is glued while the long end is snapped. Does that makes sense?

perfect sense. I have mine velcroed where the spat comes together and if seems pretty good. I havent attaced the "latch" yet. wasn't sure if I should add more velcro on the "latch" where it meets the spat.

  6. So after trooping this at Celebration, I decided to modify the spats. They're really silly and stick out far and velcroing them the way most of us did just doesn't work very well. Here's what I did today.

Made a little recessed snap piece so that the male snap end could go through the ABS to make the greeble

    Final product.

so how was it attached before you added the snap? is the latch greeble glued to one side of the spat opening?

  7. Any rubber cement or contact cement will work. If you have access to acetone, you can make your own out of your rubber scraps after trimming.

I am looking to buy a case of small tubes of Elmers rubber cement so I can include it in my kit. I realize that some troopers don't have access to things that others can easily obtain. Here, you can buy rubber cement pretty much anywhere.

Think this glue will work on the Anovos stock gaskets?

  8. If it helps, we now know that there is actual metal screw hardware that is part of the larger resin holster. Some of us were able to acquire a set at or prior to SWCA and install it in our thigh holsters (I did - it took some effort to do). Time will tell whether or not it will be enough to make the thigh holster function as intended.

what type of screw is it? do you hvae a pic?

  9. Thanks, I was afraid for this. Guess I'll have to look a bit further for a decent one :)

The JB PlasticWeld has a PSI of 360, the DevCon one has a PSI of 3500. This is a bit why I was wondering :)

I think the first one I used was around 1200psi then I moved up to a 3500 one which has held fast for going on two years now.

  10. The boxes on the screen used armor were NOT seamless. There is a distinct split from the ab to the boxes.

It is personal preference to use bondo there but I would not recommend it due to the amount of movement that is necessary on the ab as well as it not being accurate.

I'd love to see some referece pics if possible.

  11. Quoting myself here, coz it may be overlooked being on the end of the previous page.

Anyone any idea about the JB PlasticWeld?

I tried to use the low psi plastic expoy on my first blaster build. it was not very durable. parts snapped off pretty easy. might make a good filler but wouldn't use it for assembly.
