  1. Yeah...the Skullworx is low wattage so I have heard owners complain about the volume. I like the overall design of the SW but want more power so that you can be heard.
  2. Ruck, Glad to hear you got out of the JR purchase...ATA offers Shadow Trooper armor at around 540.00 and is good quality. Good luck.
  3. This theoretical set up is to serve as an alternative to the skullworx set up used for voice.
  4. I just got my boots the other day, and while I am still on the waiting list for my armor I have some concern about the shins fitting over the boot tops without affecting the contour of the lower leg. Is this something everyone deals with?
  5. Goin Dirty. Gotta get the tube stripes on and finish up. I imagine this is what 36 yrs. of droid hunting would do to a guy lol.
  6. Can you guys tell me how to attach the lenses seperately for a nice clean look please?
  7. I do not have pics as this is just an idea... Here are some links so that you may look into it yourself. ----------- Locitus, can you recommend a set of hovies that would work with this build?
  8. I have been looking into the skullworx system and have found that I may be able to build the same set up for less with more performance. The complaint I hear most is that the system is not very loud due to the low wattage of the speakers. I have found some 3/4 inch 25 watt boat speakers on the web which I should be able to pair with a 2x25 watt amp from Canakit. The amp requires 13 to 20 v to operate so 2 9v batteries ran in series should provide the power needed. In theory I think it could work and I could have a self contained system with speakers in the aerators. Any thoughts? Thanks.
  9. Right on...When I say realistic I mean what a helmet might actually look like in real life and not necessarily screen accurate. I'm sure the yellow padding provides a snug fit and is what was actually used on screen but its really just a matter of personal preference. We'll see how it works out.
  10. While I know the tactical padding is not necessary, my mild obsessive compulsiveness drives me to make the helmet as realistic as possible. If it doesn't work out I will pursue regular padding as an alternative but in the meantime I will have fun with the trial and error end of it.
  11. 3/19...payment sent for Tactical helmet pads, Humbrol paints, frown mesh, and TK boots. The journey continues.
  12. You will find all the help you need on these forums...99.9 % of my productive research has came from this site. Good luck with your build.
  13. Yeah..Terrell's been great so far. Now I have to start piecing together the rest of my gear.
  14. Got my ATA lid in the mail the other day. Still have to tighten up the right ear...sand the frown, and paint all the tears, traps, ears and vocoder. On the waiting list for the body armor. Lovin it!
