  1. We're trying to make these easier to get a hold of but I think in the end, the blasters are, at first glance, a real gun. That seems to be the common problem when shipping out of the country. Within the US, the only major problems come from replica gun laws. Technically, we need to install bright orange tips into the blasters prior to shipment. They are supposed to be glued in place. In the past, we have not bothered to do so but we are currently discussing the addition of an orange plug into the barrel tip.

Not sure that this will stay in through the shipping process but I think it's a necessity that it is installed prior to shipment out of California.

As Lewis stated above, after taxes, material costs, shipping supplies, etc. the loss of payment via paypal or credit card claim is enough to obliterate the profit from several blaster sales. That's always been the deterrent to shipping over borders.

  2. So we completely tore this sucker apart and rebuilt it with the tube inside. The cast versions of the R1 blaster have shallow holes so we are following suit.

This is the test fit of our 3d printed parts. Some where printed on the formlabs printer and the lighter grey parts on the Objet Eden.

The charging handle on the screen used cast blasters are mounted backwards so, of course, we are doing the same thing.http://praetorianblasters.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/FullSizeRender-2.jpg

  3. We understand your pain.

I used to try and ship internationally back with Sci-Fire. Sometimes it was ok, sometimes we lost the blaster to Customs and had to refund the money.

    So, we stopped doing it.

We have suggested an alternate route for those wishing to take the responsibility upon themselves:

We can provide you (international customer) with the origin shipping information, box dimensions and weight of the package. You then can go on USPS.com and fill out the appropriate customs forms and pay for the shipping label. Save the label and customs forms off to a .pdf file or other printable image file. We will affix the label and customs forms to the package and ship in an unmarked package to you. Keep in mind... The package at that point, whether it makes it to you or not, becomes your responsibility. You will be the origin shipper and the receiver.

I think we can offer a $20 discount to overseas buyers to offset some of the trouble being that they will have to pay for shipping anyway.

  4. Due to past problems with customs seizing packages that remotely resemble weapons, we cannot offer shipping to international locations where we assume the responsibility for the shipment. We will offer you (international buyers) the option to purchase the label from our shipping location to your location and send us the appropriate labeling and international invoices. It's too expensive to attempt to ship to someone and in the end have them never receive the item. They almost always end up filing a Paypal claim and end up retrieving their money leaving us with a massive loss.

It's not a preferable situation by any means. We wish it wasn't this way. We'd be making a ton of sales to the UK and Germany if it weren't the case. I think someone in the community were interested, they could setup a "middle man" service where they'd charge a little cash to re-ship items to overseas buyers. Obviously, this would require some faith in the middle man as well. I really don't have any better ideas of how to go about this.

  5. Nathan and I discussed and decided to 3D model the cylinders (capacitors) vs. molding someone else's version of them. It doesn't seem right to mold the Shepperton version since they were the original creators. We will be 3D modeling to match from pictures but making our alterations in the model to make this casting friendly. We will be molding the picatinny rail into the main body of the blaster.

    E-11 / R1 Specifics:

    • We will be molding the scope separately and casting an aluminum tube into the center of the scope.
    • Due to additional steel and aluminum armatures, this version of the E-11 will be slightly heavier than our other versions.
    • The scope rails will be laser cut from .090" high carbon steel. This will also increase the weight of the blaster.
    • The end cap and barrel tip will be molded and cast separately from the blaster body.
    • We will most likely mold the rear sight separately but that is TBD.
    • The magazine will be molded and cast separately.
    • The cylinders will be 3D printed in high resolution, molded and cast.
    • The flashlight will be molded and optionally attached to the blaster or left off if you wish to purchase and use a real flashlight.
    • Additional armatures will be cast into the blaster body where the scope rail will attach via threaded screws.

Note: Some of this may change as we get further into the project. We'll post more later.

  6. We've ordered 6 sets of the chest, back, shoulders and biceps. These sets will be distributed to the test builders and we'll help them assembled the sets to determine what problems others might have when trying to assemble the kits. We've assembled the test parts as we've gone through this project and haven't run into any problems.

    Things we will be pre-assembling...

    1. Visors on helmets will have the steel t-nuts installed out of the box.

    2. Shoulder straps will have the threaded armatures pre-drilled for quick installation into chest and back armor.

    3. Rubber gauntlets will be pre-assembled
