  1. Awesome Bob, can't wait to see your build! Not sure of your schedule on Halloween but swing out to Waterford if you can.

I wish i could, but Trick or Treat is by my house at 5:30..Maybe a day in the near future we can hook up....

Thanks for all the good feed back everyone...I will continue to do research and get the ball rolling soon enough.. :jc_doublethumbup:

  2. BOB, I felt the same way as you did about wanting to get a costume fast so I made a Garindan costume and trooped with it for quite a few years then changed over to an Imperial Crewman and then last year I was lucky enough to afford armor, my best advice to you is build your Tusken Raider costume, get it approved by the 501st, come out and troop, make contacts, keep your eyes and ears open, stay on these boards, stay on the 501st boards, be active in your garrison in your costume and out of it, (handlers and booth workers are needed) and when the time is right you will get your armor, please just don't wait for your armor before going forward, you never know what could happen, someone may being selling a helmet cheaply on the boards, then other pieces come along, or someone is getting out and you luck into getting something half decent for cheap or you stumble into an armor run that has a good cost to it. you never know unless you try!

Thanks DAN,That's exactly what i was thinking too...Just get my foot in the door and the rest will happen eventually...

  3. Bob, actually October has been quite a busy month for us here in the Wisconsin Garrison. DK-Reads Day, Chad Vader filming, Weird Al concert, and our big event Discovery World where all the Rebel Legion, 501st, and Droid builders come together and take over the science museum for the day. On Halloween we will be having a outside block party in Waterford where we will be raising money to donate to Make a Wish. As you know in Wisconsin this time of year the snow starts to fly and it gets cold so we do slow down a bit. But this is also the time of year that we start to have armor parties to help new and old members work on there builds. Hope to see you soon.

That's what i was thinking,it was a busy month..I did go to Discovery World and talked to a few people and they were very helpful...I would like to attend a armor party when ever you have one..Please just lmk

I'm just stuck..I want to do a tusken because they are cheeper to build, but on the other hand i really want to do a trooper..I just need more money....

I believe that is an FX bucket. Personally, I'd say look into vetted makers here for a more accurate helmet. The FX buckets have either already been removed from the approvable list or have been extensively discussed as getting removed from "acceptable." If someone has a picture they can post side-by-side of a finished FX and one of the more accurate buckets, you'll see a huge difference.

    Thank you

  5. I believe the FS section restriction is 5 posts but don't quote me on that. As far as tips, if you have questions that we can answer please ask them. If you know what suit you want to make we can better point you to armor. Additionally, if you tell us where you're from we can help find your local garrison where you can get some in-person assistance.

Thanks..I'm in wisconsin and i already joined the wisconsin Garrison, but not a whole lot of action there....As far as suits go i want either a sandtrooper or a hero...
