i just think its great to have as a collectors piece whatever you do with it mate!
-
this sounds a real pain,im part of th u.k. garrison an to be honest i found everyone overwhelmingly friendly!
i just assumed that every garrison had a new members thread.
maybe someone from there should think about doing this as it can be a bit daunting when you start off and a friendly hello goes a long way!!
-
great pictures rob and some real helpful hints for people building your armour!
by the way,my helmet turned out spot on!
-
for the price trooperbay are great belts, and mines definataley plastic inside!
-
great discussion everyone!
got to say though i dont understand why anyone would ask for a cleaned up version of an RS PROPS helmet???
am i missing something here???
-

welcome walt,
$1700 bet that was the pirates known as stormtrooper shop, what a rip off!good to see you came here and found am,perfect
for the larger trooper, good luck when it arrives!now do more research lol
-
they held them left handed so the magazine didnt catch or rub against the armour
-
i like the hand painted look with humbrol no5 and for the sprays i always use plasticote with a plasticote primer(b&q)
-
if you look at your first helmet your eye points are sharper,so id do the same with your new one, helps with that menacing look that mathias mentioned earlier
-
i do have fans in my helmet and to be honest i dont really think they do much,if its hot outside they just pull hot air in!
i cut my cod but wont be doing it with my next though,i have an undersuit that zips up at the back an has a small zipper at the cod to make bathroom
breaks easier.as was said minimul helmet padding with a strap, the more room you have in your helmet is the key,im afraid i do use nomex gloves most of the time!
-
i think you got the colour and look of the frown perfect now, dont touch it again!
really like the look of the metal finished tips, will this be a full build including pack aswell?
-
yeah, definatley cut the teeth out,as per originals and it helps more than you realise for air flow, anywhere you can get extra airs a good thing!
oh and your helmets coming along well!
-
my forearms have about a finger wide gap all the way round if that helps, and my biceps are almost without an edge, just a bare minimul.also remember when cutting the top of the forearms you can always remove more but cant add on,just test then cut, test then cut.even when i thought id taken enough off i still cut it twice more after wearing for a while and feeling the pinch.spending a good amount of time in your armour is the only way youll find all the bites and pinches that will need adjusting!
good luck

very clean and sharp,an i likey the prices!
