  1. Hello, I am sure many have had this same problem and maybe figured it out on their own, but have yet to do so. I have glued double snaps into the upper front portion of my thigh piece and then attached them to a belt like a garter kind of set up (similar to Pandatroopers). Well, the problem I am having is that the belt sags and the thigh pieces slide down no matter how tight i make the belt. If there is a remedy for this I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I have read where some have used velcro for attaching their armor together. Does velcro work better in this case? If someone could please help me in figuring this out, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks in advance Patrick
  2. I am to the point of putting on cover strips. Any advice on how to get them straight?
  3. I am in pretty good shape and definetly not shaped like a wine barrel. lol. Way too funny. Thanks for the advice. I have been looking at pictures and threads for days and I am trying to get the courage up to make the cuts I guess. When cutting on the arms and legs, well, that's no big deal. But, the chest and back . Just don't want to screw up my investment. Thanks again. Patrick
  4. Hello to all, I need some help concerning the chest and back piece to my AM armor kit. I am 6'-3" 240 so I decided to go with AM. It is an awesome kit by the way. I am doing the butt joint's and trying to get as close as I can to accurate. I am looking for some advice, photos, and links that would steer me in the right direction to trim the chest and back, primarily the sides (shoulders too). I have seen PandaTroopers AM build thread and it is way awesome!!! But, I am a visual person, so I need more detail so I do this right. I would be happy with some good photos of after trimming to get an idea. Thanks in advance. Patrick
  5. When doing the butt joint, I am not clear. I have read and heard that I should trim the lip/overlap down to 8mm. I have 18" biceps which may cause issues if I trim off too much. Does everyone no matter their size do the 8mm thing? Does anyone have a thread or another link regarding putting together a butt joint for armor. (please hold all jokes) lol
  6. Yeah, I have posted an invite to Ohio Garrison members and to anyone else who would like to participate in armor building party. I think I am making chilli for the gathering. Thanks for the encouragement. I will keep you posted on the build.
  7. Look what came today!!!! There are two sets of AM armor because my brother wanted to join with me after hearing my excitement about wanting to join the 501st. Nicley packed!!! Where to begin???? Awesome job Clinton on the armor, the communication and the speedy delivery. Any build advice is needed and accepted, this is my first build.
  8. Thanks Eric, I checked out the build thread and wow!!! A lot of work. The thread is awesome and I will for sure use it during my build. Thanks again!!!
  9. Thank you both for the advice. I will check out the threads.
  10. Hi all, My name is Patrick. I am new to the forum. I am from Ohio and I am really excited to get into Trooping soon. But before I do, I need to make sure I get the right armor. I have been studying the posts and the various armor suppliers. I am stuck between RT-Mod and AM. I understand that both fit larger and taller people, but I want to make sure the armor I purchase will cover me in the right places length wise as well. I am 6'-3" and around 240lbs. Any advice will be much appreciated.
