you have just made it to the right place to get all the answers and armor you need. READ READ READ and READ some more, this site will help you so much, also there will be lots of people here that will help point you in the right direction, people in your area too. welcome aboard and have fun

yes exactly, foot in the door is better then outside looking in, the 501st is a great set of people, you just have to show you want in and then go from there and it will happen.

BOB, I felt the same way as you did about wanting to get a costume fast so I made a Garindan costume and trooped with it for quite a few years then changed over to an Imperial Crewman and then last year I was lucky enough to afford armor, my best advice to you is build your Tusken Raider costume, get it approved by the 501st, come out and troop, make contacts, keep your eyes and ears open, stay on these boards, stay on the 501st boards, be active in your garrison in your costume and out of it, (handlers and booth workers are needed) and when the time is right you will get your armor, please just don't wait for your armor before going forward, you never know what could happen, someone may being selling a helmet cheaply on the boards, then other pieces come along, or someone is getting out and you luck into getting something half decent for cheap or you stumble into an armor run that has a good cost to it. you never know unless you try!

it has taken me a few times but I can put it all on by myself, but there is almost always someone in our green room that will help, sometimes too many people. I found if I put the thighs first then the shins, I cannot get the lower torso on,.one way to do it is put the thighs on then step into the lower but keep it around your feet then put the shins on and then raise the torso. there are so many ways to do it, just play around with it until you know what works for you. but the neck seal first is the best, I have forgotten a few times.

well partial kit, would have to pick and choose what parts to use and modify

it is a very cool looking gun, with a scope and a E11 doopy doos kit it would look really cool, I would love to have one for my wall.

I am currently using clips from the back of a remote used to open an overhead garage door, I had to bend them a lot and am not completely happy with them since my TD can be pulled off my belt too easily but I will change this as soon as I can

exactly what do you use the magnets for, I have heard of using them for some parts of armor and making binders of course.

I have a pull along duffle bag, I have had it for about 20 years and it works fine and fits all my armor, I "clam shell" it. basically lower torso armor fits inside the upper torso armor, then I stick the thermal det in one of the lower arm pieces and they go in the upper arm pieces, they in turn go into the lower leg pieces that go into the upper leg pieces, then those go inside the upper & lower torso armor with the E11 between them, then I put that in the bag, I have enough room at the end to put both boots (one facing up, one facing down) and then cover the boots with the shoulder bells, the belt comes apart in two pieces (canvas belt and ammo belt) and go in on either side of the armor. when I get home the E-11 goes on my gun rack with my other prop guns over my TV in my living room.
