Looking good so far
Thanks Glen. I had a much easier time painting my ICN. The humidity here in Washington currently has been a real challenge.

I'm not really a fan of Disney so to speak, but I am obsessed with Disneyland. Recently I had the opportunity to pick up an old FX kit on the cheap, so I immediately thought Skytrooper. The armor was worn for years by someone with a larger build than me, so I had to get to re-sizing things. While I was at it, I re-shaped the FX chest and shoulder bells. I grabbed a Cap-W bucket to top it off and away we go.
I added the rubber trim and painted the gray flashing:
The helmet was unpainted, so I handpainted the details as well.
I still have to add the read trap details. I might use decals on those as the lines are skinnier than I suspect my shaky hands can paint.
I have a chest box kit on order as well as a pair of Targ's hoses. Man of War is sending me a Boba jetpack kit minus the rocket as well.

Great job Matt. Congratulations!

I've seen Matt's armor in person, and he looks sharp. While the curve could be a tad sharper, it is definitely present as evidenced in the close-up photos. My .02 anyway.

I love the progression Paul. Thanks for sharing those.

Credit Toddo for being the first person in 2 years to notice they were hidden. Agree, glad to see them visible again.
What can I say? I'm a snooper.
-
Todd: what method are you using to carry the jetpack?
-
Imagine a plastic army man's gun. Now imagine it really big. That's a Cushman. It is ok at best but will be extremely soft and lacking detail. Many have had difficulty getting these in a decent timeframe or at all. My personal experience is that I had to threaten legal action to receive a response even after months of silence. I eventually received my MG-34 and it was broken in half. There are better options such as Hyperfirm that will make you much happier IMHO.

Looks cool.

Lucky duck. Tom has one of those too. I dig it.

BTW, where did you find a Kashyyyk faceplate?
-
This is an interesting project. I love how the pieces are coming together Steve. Keep it coming.

I love the photos and history Scootch. Thanks for sharing that.
-
Same here. Scootch has always been a stand-up guy towards me and has produced great armor every time both afford-ably and quickly.

Congratulations! Great to have another among us.

hmm.
I just looked at your INC thread, and your belting looks a bit different than mine. Where did you get it? Is yours shiney or is it just the lighting/weathering?
Mine is the same weave, but is more of a flat color.
Also yours seems to be not as "poofy" as mine, in othere words lays flatter. Did it just come that way or did you do something to it? I did not see sew lines other than the velcro at the back....
Yours:
Mine:
My firehose isn't shiny. I think that's the hairspray that I sealed the weathering in with. I didn't sew anything other than the velcro. I just flattened like you have done. I did iron it though. That helped it keep the flattened shape. As for where I acquired it, the local F.D. had us remove firehose from my store a couple of years ago, so I scored some free.
-
Our machine wouldn't handle the fire hose. We had to hand-sew it.

I've trooped alongside Jedistar in his HWT a number of times, and he always not only looks great, but he seems comfortable. He also dresses himself much easier than I do with my TD, so I'll second his advice.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads of the FISD from TK-6647, CDZ-0335, and CTB-0340!
-
Nice job BJ.

welcome Dan. We'll get you sorted out with Garrison Titan, but you've come to the absolute right place for all things TK-related.
-
that's the best-looking Zed-trooper I've seen so far.
