  1. Thanks! I was wondering, is there a '501-EIB-acceptable' gray spray paint for the ears and teeth? It's a gloss finish, correct?
  2. The first things I tackled were the eyes. The MTK has a VERY faint delineation that seemed to suggest a good area to mark and cut. I marked it with a pencil, used a cutting wheel on the Dremel to take the majority of the plastic away, then used a sanding disc to carefully get next to the pencil mark. ---------- A closer look: ------------ After some sanding, here's the final result: -------- Next, I used a sanding wheel to shape the bottom edge. ----------- I also trimmed the extra plastic off the top of the brow (cutting wheel, then sanding disc). Finally, I worked on the teeth. I'm not 100% happy with the result, but after an hour or so of filing and sanding (I even sliced a sliver off an Emory board to fit in the smaller teeth), I think I've reached a point I where I can sleep tonight: ------- Tomorrow, I'll stop by Home Depot and grab some rare earth magnets, so I can move onto the next step: attaching the face place to the dome! Thoughts/suggestions/critiques welcome!
  3. It was all I could not to break the Dremel out about an hour ago. But I have all day off tomorrow....
  4. Aw, screw it, I couldn't wait! -----------------
  5. Having made the decision to go from TB to TK, one of the first things I did was purchase the MTK stunt helmet kit. I got a box today! ------------- I'll get some pics up tomorrow morning (my phone camera sucks in low-light conditions).
  6. I remember from a few years ago, the acceptable undersuit was simply a one-piece, black Lycra danceskin. I know that several manufacturers now sell two-piece options, a la UnderArmor, and others now include zippers, and fabric options for different climates. Is there a 'standard' now for undersuits? Do any of you have recommendations on them? Zippers, warm weather vs. cold weather, year-round, etc.? Favorite sellers?
  7. As much as I'd like to be screen-accurate, I tend to think of it as a real-world scenario. No respectable military in the world would issue boots in one color, and have you paint and polish them in another color. That's just sadistic!
  8. I figured as much. And since TKBoots doesn't seem to keep my size in stock (12-13), I thought I'd look for alternatives.
  9. Actually, although it's difficult to see, there IS a seam running straight down the middle from the top of the boot to the toe.
  10. After reading the CRL for ANH Stunt, for which the EIB requirements state "there is no seam present on the front of the boot", I thought I'd ask for sake of clarification. I'm not in the market just yet, but grabbed pics of these off eBay. Are both of these boot styles unacceptable for EIB? They both have seams on the 'front' of the boot: -----------
  11. Yeah, I saw those - very nice! And I may be in the market for one down the line. The hard part about Mike's website, is that there is only one picture of the kit, so it's difficult to verify what the underside of the kit looks like.
  12. Is it considered ANH? The reason I ask, is that for level 2 (EIB, I'm assuming?) the requirements are rather stringent: For level two certification (if applicable): Folding stock (does not need to function). A real or replica ammo counter - based off of a Hengstler counter - shall be present. D-ring mounted on the rear. Sterling based blasters have the correct M-38 or M-19 style scope. Two power cylinders on the magazine housing. Scratch-built, resin cast, Hyperfirm rubber cast blasters shall have a total of 6 T-tracks on blaster (leaving the lowest row on the magazine housing side uncovered). If using the Hasbro E11 toy blaster and you cover all the rows of holes, the blaster will have 7 T-tracks total. But, if you want to have the correct number of T-tracks (6 total) with the lower row of open vent holes on the magazine housing side, then you shall cover the pre-existing rows of holes with T-tracks, and grind off the lower integrated T-track on the magazine housing side and drill a new row of holes in its place. No ESB/ROTJ greeblies are allowed on the blaster. I just want to make sure I'm not wasting cash if I decide to make that purchase!
  13. Forgive a dumb question, but is the blaster pictured on Mike's website acceptable for 501st admission for ANH Stunt? Or a better question, is there a single thread/post/website that describes the differences in the E-11 from movie to movie?
