Thanks! That's exactly what I was thinking! Grabbing a Stanley! I have a helmet bag for my lid, but would it be overkill to have it in a bag and also try to find some sort of hard shell type of box to put it in too?

For those of you with the Stanley box, did you put any kind of padding in the bottom or the sides? Or is there even room for padding? Thanks.

If you just want a basic suit to wear then 1/8 are ok, but if you want to get EIB then I would suggest using bigger sized rivets like 3/16 or 5/32.

 

Could someone please explain to me the difference between the rivet sizes regarding EIB? I'm doing my build for EI approval and I have purchased 1/8 size not knowing. If it has anything to do with the requirements, I'll take them back and get the bigger size for sure. Thank you!

Dang! I wish I could help! But I'm still waiting on my armor. But I am building toward EI and should hopefully be ready to go not long after the begenning of the year. I'd love to see 200 by the end of the year!

So i didnt buy my under armor yet, but i went to the store to try it on to see what size i would need for the top. Is this too baggy? The smaller size was a tiny bit too small and i feel this size is a tiny bit too big. Any thoughts? THANKS!

I appreciate all the help guys. I think ya'll have me steered in the right direction now. I should be ordering this weekend or next week. I didnt want to have to ask "whcih armor" questions but after so much reasearch and still being so much on the fence, i had to ask for some direction. Thanks again everyone. Thanks for the help guys!Im still trying to get pricing for some of these vendors. I guess i've narrowed it down to ATA, AP and TM. I understand AM is supposed to be pretty good too. I guess like everyone else, I just want a great fit and great quality with out having to spend a year modifying the armor. Ah, decisions, decisions, decisions.

Thanks for the reply. As far as budget, as long as it's not outrageous, i'm fine with it. After all my searching, i'm still having trouble deciding on what armor would fit me the best and still look good. I thought by this point i'd would have already found armor and ordered it. I still feel like i'd just be picking a set randomly and going with it. Being my first costume, i know i want only the normal amount of modification. Having to modify too much, i feel i might mess it up as this is my first go at it. But i'm prepared for the normal mods that come along with this costume. And i know i prefer the nice, shiny white armor. Not something i have to paint.

My name is Josh and i'm from Louisiana. I can't wait to get started on my first costume! I've been reading the boards for a month or so before i signed up. This forum has sooo much information and helpful people. I'd like to say thanks to everyone that takes the time to post pictures, videos, helpful links and tutorials for everyone. It really helps the newer people that might be overwhelmed at first.

 

So after all my searching, i'm STILL not sure which ANH armor to go with. I've found just about all my other resources for the other components of the costume that i think i'm going to go with, just cant decide about the armor. I know i want great quality, not just something that will pass. Also i'm 6 foot 168 pounds. Please help me decide, ha ha ha! And good luck to all the people starting out just like me!
