  1. THANK YOOOU! I'm so excited to be EIB! I'm fixing my biceps this weekend along with removing the button on the kidney plate, removing the washers like you pointed out. Then I plan on trimming a small amount off of my bottom left thigh and doing the other necessary add on's and mods for centurion!

I want to be as best as possible, so would you guys recommend trimming my holster down, both the straps and off the bottom. Or would I be better off just buying a new one? Thanks.

  2. Thanks Andrew! Crazy I've made it this far!

Thanks also Gary for the tip. Do you have any suggestion on actually doing the process of making the paste? I tried searching, but didn't come up with too much. I'd love to fix that problem I caused myself.

Mathias, what do I need to adjust/fix on my kit to get it officially up to EIB standards? I'll go ahead and get it done as soon as possible. The other things that need fixing and adjusting that don't affect EIB, but will make my kit better, I'll get to those towards the end of the month when I make my run towards centurion. I'm just swamped at the moment, but would like to at least earn EIB. Thank you!

I appreciate everyone's suggestions and kind words to help me have the best kit I can. Troopers helping troopers!

  3. I was under the impression that i was supposed to have that snap on the kidney plate. This is what i followed under the Centutrion gudelines: "A single male snap on the top right corner of the ab plate shall be present." I just put it there for the CRL as i do not need it to wear my kit or attach strapping. I thought i was going the extra mile, i'd be really dissapointed if that kept me from EIB. I'm not sure what to do about that, so i'll sit back and see what options ya'll have for me as far as that. Thanks Charles.

  4. Thanks Phil. I can add a picture of the TD later with measuring tape when i do the thigh if thats needed. And thanks about the glue suggestions for the biceps, i actually did not know those tips. That is by far the part of my kit i'm least happy with. I plan on fixing the biceps in the next month or so. I'm going to try my best for centurion before the year is through. Is my holster something that could possible permit that status?

And thanks again for all the suggestions and opinions everyone. I want my kit to look as good as possible, and i'd love to be the first person in my garrison to be EIB and eventually Centurion.

  5. Thanks guys. I just measured the TD, and it comes in at a hair over 7 inches. Hopefully that passes. I didn't realize there was a specific length for it, as its looks kinda small to me, I just used what AP gave me not even thinking I should cut it.

On the armor I used an overlap method, with no cover strips.

I have company headed over now, but I can get a picture of the bottom of the left thigh today for sure. There is a tiny, tiny bit of overhang on it, which is probably what you saw.

And I 1,000% agree about the biceps. Any tricks on how to undo all the E6000 I used to put them together? This is something I'm looking to do in the next month or so, once things slow down for me at work.'

  6. I appreciate the kind words! Yes, I do have the black elastic around the biceps. I can post a picture with just the chest/back/shoulder bell/ bicep pieces on in the morning if necessary, just to clearly show the black elastic.

EDIT: looking back at the pics, I think the bicep pieces slipped out from the black elastic. This is actually an issue I fought with for a while. I have long, lanky arms...so for me to get what I thought was an acceptable gap between the bottom of the bicep and the top of the forearm, I had to position the biceps a little lower than I would have liked as far as the shoulder bell elastic holding the bicep snug in place. Hopefully that makes sense.

  7. PLEASE EXCUSE PICTURE #6 of my wife from CVI, ha ha! I can't figure how to edit it out of my thread! SORRY.
