  1. Meanwhile back in topic land.. I think I am done with the ab plate buttons. I used midnight blue, unsure if I should make them a bit more towards french blue. They look a bit black in the picture, they are more blue in person... Also me and TK-2959 worked a bit on my sci fire MG34 the other day to get it converted to a DLT-19. T-tracks and wire had been added so he could borrow it at the troop this weekend. And last.. fashion style statement or lifestyle statement? Best way to weather your TK boots.. wear them!
  2. It's all personal prefferance. I like 2mm because it feels more like armor to me and I am happy with my choice. Aslo, I think it's great that TM offers the different abs thickness so people can get a great looking kit suited their needs and wants.
  3. I have seen the 1mm up close and tried on Locitus' 2mm suit. The 2mm just felt more correct for my needs, simple as that. Also the ruggedness of the 2mm was more appealing. But if I was ever to get another one I would probably get a 1mm kit. Having a kit with as close to screen accurate as one can get would be fun^^ Edit: Sorry Mathias :/
  4. Yeah.. but it's worth the wait. And Thank you^^ A bit of both. The screen accurate anh strapping will not work with 2mm abs. The plastic is not flexible enough so it will give in to the screws and crack :/ if that makes any sense.. But I'm going as accurate as possible. So from the outside it will look screen accurate that is the plan atleast.
  5. Finding it to be very fun painting my helmet^^

  6. Wow, thanks for the huge support you guys are great! And hmm.. yeah, I do think I'm the first TM girl. Or atleast the one to make a thread and all. Hopefully I'll be the first female centurion aswell. Would not mind getting myself that title! Anyway, this is how far I'm at now with the helmet.. Now, we wait some more.. ah, just love the smell of humbrol paint and acetone!
  7. Might go over the black line still.. just to get it perfect.
  8. As watching paint dry is rather tedious, I amuse myself by taking pictures^^ First coat of grey is done. Might go over the black line again when I'm finished with the grey. Feeling it's a tiny bit on the thin side.. might just be me who is picky though.
  9. Just started the prosess of painting all the details on the helmet. As I want the screen accurate look I'll be doing all the handpainting myself Using Pandatroopers painting method and have just finished the first coat of the black outline. Now I'll be drinking some coffee while watching the paint dry.
  10. Cool Varg Sandtroopers are badass! More updates, but ah... the lovely smell of E6000..mmmm
  11. Ok, did some more work last night. Straps are trimmed and the edges sanded perfectly smooth^^ (and notice the girly, yet geeky, TK tube stripe inspired nailpolish!)
  12. Thanks! I'll be going with midnight blue for the ab buttons and french blue for the tube stripes. Seems to be the most correct to me.
  13. No. Told TM I was going for a TK not a TD. But I guess you can allways order det extra pieces You going sand?
  14. Thanks alot Billhag it's nice to hear I'm on the right track. So, just been trimming a bit more lately, not so fun to show pictures of that.. just want to show what I've been working on tonight: Well, this is also trimming, but I think they are cute and wanted to show them^^ Also found these to be very fun to trim down. In other news, my tubes of E6000 has arrived, so when I get my magnets I'll start glueing. Yay! And got humbrol paints yesterday so will be painting the details on my helmet and ab buttons very soon.
  15. Thanks good to know I'm on the right path. BTW guys. How many mm are the over- and under arm strips suppose to be? Can't seem to remember :S
  16. Some short progress here.. but should speed up as I've now started on my holiday break and will be attending an armor party tomorrow Trimmed, just need to sand down the edges a bit to make them less sharp. All done with my little lexan scissors. These are awesome for trimming! And my little box of leftover abs shrapnel. Also, got my second DLT today, a doopydoo. Made a post comparing the hyperfirm and doopydoo in the blaser section if you would like to see. - Karin
  17. It looks pretty sweet, yes. Thought if would be nice for other members to see the two up against each other. I don't know if all the hyperfirms are identical. And I don't know the maker of mine as I got it from another 501st member. Might be able to ask him about that though..
  18. One can not split the hyperfirm, so one will need to have a spesial bag/crate/box to bring it in. I might just sew a padded bag for it. But if you need to take an airplane with it, I would get a weapon case.
  19. I prefer the hyperfirm one myself for trooping. Though dooydoo has the clean lines I really like. Hyperfirm is alot lighter, so me with my skinny arms can carry it with no worries. Doopydoo has more of a real weapon feel in weight. As perhaps some troopers might like. There is no coming around that hyperfirm is the most comfortable for trooping as you can drop it, bump into people and overall just hit people with it with no worries. Doopydoo I would be a bit worried to drop, as with any resin props. Though to me it feels a bit more sturdy then other resin props. Still, I do like the look of the doopydoo very much! It all depends on how crisp a look you want and if the dropping possiblities are worth it. What looks good vs. whats practical really.
  20. The doopydoo blaster I got from doopydoo themselves. Tok around 3/4 weeks from ordering time till I got it. No problem for me to get an email through. The hyperfirm was sold to me by a trooper
  21. And last how the doopydoo blaster comes out of the box: You just screw the parts together.. too bad it screws on crocked :/ My idea how to fix this is to either just glue it together in the correct angle, or add new screws. Or add something at the base to make is tighten at the wanted angle, if that makes any sense. Anyone got another idea? Well.. that was it
  22. As there has been som talk about the doopydoo DLT lately I thought to show mine up against my hyperfirm MG-34. (please keep in mind this was taken with my mobile camera, so the picture quality is soso) I have yet to add the t-tracks to the MG, so these are more or less as they come out of the box. The hyperfirm as been painted though. Hyperfirm MG on top, Doopydoo DLT on the bottom Some overall comparison pictures. Hyperfirm is the shiny one^^ Will continue with close ups of detail differences.
