  1. Made myself a TK-shirt today.. starting to feel it! .. a bit narcissistic, but I'm in love <3
  2. I was just wondering. I have alot of return edge on my 2mm tm and for me it gives the illusjon of thicker armor. But I do understand that you would give them up for better comfort and movement. The suit still looks good^^
  3. Looks good! But I'm wondering why you cut away all the return edge on the torso parts? Comfort or something else?
  4. ABS paste is very simple to make. Get a little glass jar with a lid, cut up a bunch of tiny abs bits you have left over from trimming, put them in the jar, and add acetone so it just covers the abs shrapnel. Remember to thighten the lid good. Now wait a day or two ^^ Should look something like this: Hope that helps!
  5. Just finished all the screws and painted them white. Though I should post a picture on how it will look when the strapping is all in.. This is how it looks between the back and kidney plate.
  6. Yes, it does dry just a tiny bit more yellow then the armor. Though it isn't that noticable. Might try some gloss white on some left over abs to see if it works better. Still, pretty happy with the outcome so far.
  7. Last night and today has been dedicated to sort of pointless, yet kind of "cool" details. As I have a 2mm suit the original strapping system won't work for me, but one detail I really like about the original system are the screws. So I though that even though I don't really need them. I'll fake it and put them in there anyway^^ so pretty much I have alot of cut down screws with bolts on the bak. Serves no function, but looks neat! The chest with the screws, also painted white. And this is how it works on the inside with the snap plates. This is on the butt piece. And at last, my little "fill in that ugly gap" project. Sanded down abs paste, then painted with satin white humbrol (34), going to go over it with either glossy white humbrol, or just a clear coat. Now to fix the rest of the screws..
  8. Yes, update. As I now sort of have a deadline for my TK.. ah whatever, pictures! Have now started to glue all the snap plates. Made these out of 1mm abs, as it bends easier in curves and such. Still need to add the last one in the shoulder. Might change the placement on a few of the snaps (or add some perhaps). We'll see. Thighs and butt snaps! I think the thighs look ok, not as nice as I would like them, but I'm new at this so.. Hopefully you guys will find it approvable^^
  9. mmmm, ABS dust and E6000

  10. Looks great! But I would see if I could just take a knife (not to sharp) and scratch some of the bleed off the tube stripes. I did that on my helmet with no problem. Others have said you could use a tiny bit of paint thinner, but I have not tried that myself so don't know how that will work.
  11. I used french blue for the tubestripes. No mix. But I have two coats, so that's probably why it shows up at bit darker. And the fact that I manage to take all the pictures at night and my apartment had poor lighting.
  12. After alot of test fitting I'm done with the arms. I think I'm pretty pleased with them. Sure, there are little things that bug me, but when I think about the fact that I have zero experience with this type of work, I think they are quite pretty^^ Might trim the tiny bit of return egde I still have on the forearms. As it's not really suppose to be there. (They look better in real life to me. Also, they do have a nice curve from the elbow to the wrist. Just my camera angle that's weird.) Also changed the blue paint in the ab buttons a bit. Figured midnight blue was a bit to dark. Still think french blue seem to light, so I miksed the french blue with a bit of the midnight blue. Think it's a good shade.
  13. Just read this thread now, so a bit late response to this.. oh well.. You shouldn't worry about going a little up on the edge with the paint. That's what I did when I painted BH-7060's AP helmet. Felt that the tears and traps were a bit on the small side when I had them marked right where the edge starts. So after a bit on marking it all up with a pencil I had something that looked more accurate even if it did go up on the edge a bit. The egde on the AP helmet also has a a bit more soft bend in the tears then my TM, but trust me, it won't look weird if you paint a bit more there otherwise, looks great! Here's a picture of the helmet and paint job: Another tip for the paint is to use pandatroopers method, that's what I did. Link here (just scroll down till you see it). With this you only need to focus on getting one line straigh at a time Anyway, hope you have as much fun with your build as I am with mine!
  14. ...and now I have taken some controll over my fear for E6000.. so yeah.. did a tiny bit last night.. .. not really topic, but after a friend of mine saw my helmet he asked very nicely if I could paint his aswell. Pictures can be seen here and here. From decals to nude to painted.
  15. Yes, I will be using e6000. Still a bit scary for me though.. but I can do it
  16. Thank you all so much! I'm very happy with my helmet and look forward to trooping with it And now to start on the scary part.. glueing..
  17. Yes, I'm very much looking forward to see what you do with your DLT Take lots of pictures for us!
  18. Yeah, I like my doopydoo DLT alot! Though I like to use the scifire more. Being a girl with skinny arms. Still, for pictures I think it will be great once to add the little things that's missing And aww, you should have told me Mathias, I would have let you have the scifire one
  19. Right you are geordietrooper! Anyway.. done with the paint job! Going to add some black mesh behind the teeth for trooping and a thicker lens. Using the screen accurate one for now as it is on display^^ <3
  20. I take no credit for the frown. TM built my helmet, so I got it like this. All I said was medium height for the frown. but yes, I am very happy with it
  21. Almost done now! Just a coat more of grey on the ears and the stripe + the tube stripes.
