  1. Thanks. Actually just scored some touch up paint. Getting so close to finishing build. Final stages.
  2. Hey all...a paint pen was recommended for painting over rivets. Can't seem to find one. Suggestions?? Walking up and down Home Depot aisles. Thanks!!!
  3. Any suggestions for a good ABS scratch remover? While completing my build, I sanded the seams for some of the ABS before gluing. There are a few parts where I scuffed a bit too far and it shows. Thanks.
  4. I'm having the same issue now. I have to trim the ear bolts. Helmet sits on top of my head unless i put it on sideways. 7 and 5/8 for a hat size. My head is pumpkinish.
  5. I'm going to try to shave down the bolts later today. I think the 1/4 on each should do it...I hope. If not, I may have to give that a whirl. The undertrim will cover it anyway. Just frustrating because I just want to try it on!!! Thanks.
  6. Yeah, I kind of figured. Haha. Not home at moment. Wont be able to even attempt trimming bolts until tomorrow. Will post pics if trimming doesn't help! Just funny because I thought my head was going to be swimming inside and would need all this paddng.
  7. The ends of the bolts are going to have to be trimmed about a quarter of an inch on each side. Well, I think. Just can't even get it in all the way. As soon as I got the helmet I just wanted to put it on. It came completed for me. Armor is from same person and build (on m end) is still in progress. Anyway, when I looked at the bottom of the lid I knew I wasn't going to be able to fit my head in. Daughter couldn't get it on her head. I am going to see if trimming the screws tomorrow will help. Just wanted to know if this as normal. Lid looks amazing, just can't get it on my planet head yet. Haha.
  8. Phew. Thanks. I just thought I'd be able to pull it over my head. It goes on sideways, but when i turn it the screws stab my head. I bought extra padding and a helmet liner. It doesn't look like they'll be any room after I put my head in....let alone a fan.
  9. Ok, AP helmet came in today. Complete and looks fantastic. Problem...I have somewhat of a "melon head" and have to turn helmet sideways to even get it close to on. My 12 old daughter cant even get helmet on! I have to shave down the inner screws for ears because I cannot even get helmet on all the way. They jab into the side of my head. Is this normal? Has anyone ever had this experience? Mind you, I don't have a Charlie Brown sized gourd. Hat size is 7 and 5/8. Any info???
  10. Needless to say I'll be seeking everyone's advice when I'm putting it all together.
  11. Have been reading some threads on adhesives. I was advised to use Plastruct and E6000. My question: Where do I use each type? I'm going with rivets, snaps and elastic mostly. I'm going to use industrial Velcro for calves and forearms, if needed. When my ABS armor arrives I just want to have a plan. Thanks!!!
  12. Haha. Yes! Thanks a lot!
  13. I want to find that UV blocker film. Perhaps it goes on like the film on a cell phone?
  14. Thanks. It won't be sitting in direct sunlight all day, but I know the sun gets in the house certain times of the day in the area where I'd like to display it.
  15. Don't know where to post, but a quick question. Does ABS armor yellow or fade in sunlight? I was going to display armor on a mannequin when not trooping. It wouldn't be direct sun, but sun at times nonetheless. If so, is there anything I could put on it to prevent fading or yellowing? A TK sunblock? Other than keeping out of the sun, of course. Thanks!
