  1. I was going to do the simple route and just use some foam, but I want my helmet to look interesting especially since It will be taken off and viewed at parties and events, so a more refined interior is what I am after. Plus, the adjustable suspension will make for a nice snug fit.
  2. My armor is en route to me, in the meantime I swung by Home Depot to pick up a few odds n ends. I purchased an inexpensive yellow hard hat (I think it was around $7) simply for the suspension which I plan on installing in my trooper lid. The suspension is worth the price by itself as it is adjustable and has a comfortable sweat band. I have a rather small head, measuring 22 1/2" around. I'm not sure what to expect as far as size of the interior of the trooper helmet but wanted to start the ball rolling as far as recommendations and suggestions for securely installing such a suspension inside the helmet. If the inside circuference of the helmet is larger than the pre-adjusted size of the suspension, my initial thought would be to glue plastic block "shims between the helmet wall and the suspension to compensate for the difference in size. I will know more when my kit arrives but it never hurts to look ahead. What I bought was a yellow hard hat from a company called Safety Works - if anyone is familiar with installing a suspension I would appreciate any and all suggestions. Links welcome to appropriate threads. Cio
  3. Thanks for the feedback. I contacted air-ship and I was assured that his speakers will easily work with the ROM board I was toying with the idea of learing some basic vacume forming so I can build a housing for the sound board so the inside of the helmet looks "presentable". Does anyone know off hand if the ROM board (raw) has a waiting list like his full kits??
  4. I want the sound output of the ROM kit but mini speakers inside the helmet's HOVI tips instead of the larger speaker behind the chest. My thought is to purchase the basic "raw" soundboard amp from ROM and install Hovi speaker tips from a seller I have seen on ebay by the name air-ship. The auction is listed as: Stormtrooper Helmet Speakers Hovi mix mic tip aerators I'm no electronics expert at all, so I would have a friend help me get this together - how/where would the microphone hook up to this if I chose this route? Recommendations and suggestions completely welcome. I havent invested any money yet into a voice system so I am still doing my homework.
  5. Can the Rom FX kit be modified to have two mini speakers to fit inside the helmet? I really don't like the idea of the sound coming from the chest and its really the only thing keeping me from making the purchase.
  6. Fantastic - you guys are really good at giving some support. This would not be the case on the RPF as there are a TON of over-opinionated members who would rather bash you for your armor purchase rather than help you. I just recieved my shipping confirmation for my armor so it is on its way The only thing I don't have right now is the boots, but just ordered a helmet liner from Fenixprops and still shopping around for a voice kit that I fancy. I should be starting my own thread here soon - I would very much welcome any and all feedback. Thanks for making my build process easy for me...
  7. I am currently awaiting my armor kit to arrive so in the meantime, I want to make sure I have all the necessary supplies ready so I don't get held back. I would like to know exactly what model Dremmel cutting bit would be most effective/appropriate for trimming the small areas in the teeth of the helmet as well as the eyes. This bit would be used on ABS plastic. Also - could someone answer for me if the score/snap trimming method works on ABS?
  8. Thanks for the links. I have to admit, I am a bit overwhelmed with all this - and I havent even recieved my armor kit yet. I have to be patient and stop looking at the total picture and just focus one ONE piece at a time. Can anyone tell me if the VT kit I am getting will come with the joining strips - I'm assuming it comes with everything I need minus the 'soft' parts and harness pieces.
  9. Where do I find Pandatroopers tutorial? I am happy to be the "ideal" Stormtrooper size. I am 5'10" 165lbs, athletic build.
  10. Hello - new here. I myself am awaiting a VT armor kit to arrive in the mail (a gift from a family member) so I will need some coaching on working with this kit. Where can I find the tutorial on trimming ABS? Please keep posting your progress on your kit as it will GREATLY help me in finishing mine. Also, if you have any other links that would be appropriate for me to examine regarding my VT kit, please post them. I will be needing a belt for my armor so if anyone has one for sale I'm looking.
  11. Greetings - new here, just made my intro and am looking for info on trimming ABS since I am soon to be getting my kit in the mail. Does the score/snap method work with ABS or only styrene?
