  1. Thanks, Brian! Yup, is gonna be the best D*C ever for me. So excited about the parade
  2. Thought I would update with some pics of the finished product! Thank you Tim, Thomas, and Jeff, for all the help. Tim did most of it! I think he's been over here every Sunday and a lot of other days since I got the kit in the mail.
  3. Yup, no ridge at ALL! I love it I am so excited and ready to get done!
  4. Picture of the new helmet Tray sent me. I'm very happy with it!
  5. Oh wow, Tray, that is awesome! I'm speechless....which never happens, haha. Thanks so much. Can't wait to see it! One thing I know I will recommend you guys for is your excellent customer service.
  6. TrooperTim came over today to help me, and got the ridge completely sanded down. It can't be felt at all now, although the discoloration is still present. He also tried polishing out the sanding marks, but they wouldn't polish out. So we're going to prime and paint it, once I find out which color of white will work best on it. Starting to feel like this is all going to be ok! I'll post the pics, if anyone can't tell where the line is, let me know and I'll add arrows. It looks a LOT better, and feels smooth. Thank you, TrooperTim.
  7. Awww, thanks anyway, sweetie. Tim is going to help, so it will be all good!
  8. Thanks, Vern! If nothing else, TrooperTim is going to help me with it, I just hate to ask him to do so much work if it's not necessary.
  9. Awesome....I'm not going anywhere
  10. Nope...I emailed asking how long it would take to get a new one with less of a line/ridge, but haven't heard back. He might be on vaca or something. What's your idea?
  11. Yeah, I've emailed him asking about the timeline. Tim and I would like to be done with my build in time for some troops here this summer, plus I would love to do Texas Comic Con with Jason. So I'm worried about that issue, as much as any other.
  12. I think Tray wants it back if I get another one. Otherwise, I would do as one friend suggested and Zombie it out
  13. Oh, hmmm, do you think it's not worth saving? Tray said he could maybe send me another one...I'm not sure how quickly, though.
  14. Thanks, Jim! I'm nervous about letting Tim see them now, and tell me what I've done wrong, haha. James, you are so right! I would have been terrified of starting this alone. They have really been amazing
  15. I bet they were! It probably wouldn't be so bad if mine were faint, but this is *really* visible, and forms an actual ridge that can be felt as well. Being new, I would have no idea how to fix this. I'm lucky to have Tim in my corner! And hopefully the experience and build thread will be able to help others.
  16. Yeah, that's what I wanted to do, but this particular site isn't letting me. I'll switch over to my other image hosting site and re-do that one
  17. Thanks, Tray! I agree with what Michael said, this isn't your fault in any way. I definitely don't want you to stop selling the kits, I love mine, as I've said Tim says we can fix this, it will just add 2 weeks to my build time. I think to get another one would take a lot longer, and my goal is to be approved by Dragon*Con.
  18. Maybe I should make a poll on which method is best? haha Hopefully whatever I learn from this situation will help others, in the future. For real, though, I'm gonna make this thing look GOOD.
  19. Wow, thanks for that link, Mike. I was thinking sanding, but filling and painting, huh? Wow, I wish you were in my area to help me with that! lol A LOT more than I bargained for. Yeah, Noel, I wish it was lighting. :/
  20. Yeah, the front one on yours isn't AS noticeable, but I see it. Mine is VERY pronounced. I didn't even notice the 2 ridges on the back, until I saw your pics. Just checked, and yeah, I have both of those as well. Ugh.
  21. My ridge is definitely not subtle at all, and can even be felt easily. I'm glad to hear yours isn't as bad as mine, as I knew you purchased the same kit.
