  1. Shoulda kept my mouth shut. Tony, does the amount of posts that we have in this thread influence the amount of C-38s we are committed to buying?
  2. Man, talk about making a guy feel stupid. I must ask, where was this used on screen?
  3. Nah, I wouldn't miss it! Now showing off my armour? That all depends on if I have some by then.
  4. Frankly, I'm not excited about the Clone Wars movie because of this. Its just a digital rehash of the original Clone Wars cartoon which I loved because Genndy Tartakovsky was involved. Note digital. George Lucas will never get off of this fix!
  5. Currently, I'm a house painter and part time house keeping aide at a nursing home, but I've done everything from manufacturer for a gutter-cover company to tailoring for the clothing store Buckle. Also, I'm currently trying to get back into school.
  6. Hey gang. Recently for a film project we threw a quick coat of paint on my roommate's AP bucket to make it look recognizable on screen. Its a very sloppy job, and its latex. I was just wondering if I could save time by taking paint stripper to it and removing the paint down to the ABS. I don't have a problem sanding, but . . . that's a lot of sanding.
  7. I really need to get one of those hot X-acto blades. Looks really nifty.
  8. People who bite or clip their fingernails on the couch (where I sleep). 2 AM, wake up to a sudden stabbing pain in my side. Pull out a half-chewed fingernail. Disgusting. <_< Generally, one of the biggest things that bothers me is when people will stare over my shoulder while I'm on the computer, especially typing posts on forums. Oh, and the fact that I'm not getting my share of the economic stimulus this year because I was a Dependant for half of last year.
  9. I've followed this really closely, there are a bunch of really great threads about this over at the TDH. :y: The progress threads on the different bits and pieces are really amazing.
  10. Choice! Looks kinda like carrot cake. Mmmmmm...
  11. Wow! You guys are jolly on the spot when it comes to replying! Thanks for the advice. I might heat it up and pull it back a little bit. I like the asymmetry, but it is just a bit exaggerated.
  12. Hey all. I can assume why its there, but would like to hear it from far more learned people than I, so please pardon my ignorance. Why is the right eye on the AP bucket so warped? Is there any way to make it look less like its squinting, or is that a desired look for authenticity? Thanks for any answers, guys!
  13. I was five. The year was '94 and my grandfather had rented ANH from the local video store and we watched it in the den. Been a raving fan ever since!
  14. I'm 18, but often mistaken for being a few years older. I've bought tobacco and lottery tickets both without being carded.
  15. Alright, so I would first like to express a debt of gratitude to all those who helped me with my ear-cutting question. They look much better now, after following some well put advice. Now to business. Painting this SOB is a pain, downright. I'm no dunce when it comes to painting, but I've tried two different paints (Valspar plastic, and Valspar high-gloss laquer), every painting technique I can think of, and about 10 hours trying to give it an even, semi-glossy coat, but everytime there are ugly runs all over this thing. I'm sanding it down now, and plan to try primer which is what I probably should of done in the first place, but any advice on the matter, or especially paint suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Awesome. Thats a big relief to know that I haven't taken enough off. I'm gonna take this slo-o-ow from here on out. Thanks guys!
  17. Here's a full view of the back that wouldn't fit in the original post. Thanks again! EDIT: Never mind.
  18. Murphoid here, begging for a little advice. It seems that I've cut the ears of my AP Bucket wrong! The look decent from the front, but in the back, there is a massive gap on either side clearly revealing the hardware. The only thing coming to mind is Bondo, but I wanted to consult my friends here first, who, needless to say, have much more experience than myself. Pics follow. Thanks for any and all feedback. You guys are great!
  19. Alright gang, my low budget isn't really going to let me buy a full set of AP armor, so at this point in time, I've decided to buy the FX lite kit here on this board and an AP bucket. My first question is about the lower portion of the FX thighs right above the knee. I've noticed in most of the pictures, on average sized people wearing an FX set, the bottom part of the thigh armor looks like there's about one to two inches of open space. Is this just an optical illusion, or is there really that gap? Is there any way to modify it so that its more of a close fit without screwing it up? Also, I wanted to ask about the size of the inside of the AP bucket. Would it fit on a person with a size 8 head? Thanks for any help!
