  1. When I think of an idealized Stormtrooper, and I have to say that I TOTALLY prefer the wonky and rough one, I'm in fact thinking of a symmetrical helmet like the MR CE/eFX PCR.

And I totally agree with Sergui, Idealised would be perfectly symmetrical in every aspect nice and sharp edged, the ones they had just have more character. Originally I was the other way inclined but I think the inaccuracy and oddity of the older stuff simply grows on you.

  2. I think it looks like the real deal, but only asking the buyer will reveal it in truth. Its little things round the hengstler there appears to be brass showing on the holder the end of the mag with the missing spring piece and screw on handle on the sterling make me think its pretty genuine.

  3. I used a grey primer followed by a mat spray. Just get a screw driver and pop the lens out from the inside (pushing inside to out) if you put the driver at the very edge of the lens it will come out no problem and will fit back in too easily on a push fit. That will give you a lovely finish.

  4. I'm in the process of putting an album together of the entire exhibit. I do have a picture of the mouse droid but it's not close enough to make out any detail. The binoculars were not there.

My brother will be going to the exhibit at some time. After looking at all my photos, I noticed there is a lot I didn't get so I'm making him a list of photos to take. I will add the mouse droid to the list.

    Top man :)

  5. Really liking what I've read here, this will look lovely when your finished. A couple of things I'd recommend though for anyone who follows your build, issue that you should drill all your holes on the cylinder chasis before you make any bends. That way you can be sure your alignment is correct. Simply placing the plate on a wooden block is good to help with this, and means you can clamp it down too.

If you place your rail etc in a vice to form a bend as long as this is done as close as possible, and you use a heavy implement applying even pressure also means that you don't need to score the metal before bending. In doing this though make sure you protect the surface of the metal you put into the vice.

  6. I do not think that they used a wider rail.

in my opinion they used exact the width of the inner rear sight that match the width of the first barrel hole where the rail is fixed also each have an width from around 11mm.

I hopefully will receive a metal sheet today with an width of 11mm to prove my thoughts.

Here is a picture with the inner sight removed and the open space thats left behind.

How did you detach it (the sight)? Your thought are in line with my thinking on the rail which is why I have a thinner one (two actually).
