  1. Hey Jim, I'm also 6'4" but 210 lbs. I have the AM kit which I like. A lot had to be trimmed off but perhaps if you have someone in your area that has an armor party can help you out. Also perhaps someone here with a similar build can assist you. 2 things though; you'll always hear "aren't you too tall to be stormtrooper?" (people think they're original and that I've never heard that before) and you can rarely stand next to Vader. Of course depends on how tall your Vader is. Good luck!

  2. I'm forwarding this from our squad leader. Please help however you can. Thank you!

Hello all, I come to you with a plea for help. Bob "Dad" Perinchief SL-7082 (my actual dad) is an elementary school teacher, and the president of his schools PTO. Recently the PTO treasurer (a students parent) embezzeled over $2,000 from the PTO bank account, essentially cleaning the fund out.

As a passionate, lifelong teacher and advocate Dad has pledged to walk from his school to the County School Board office, and back to his school. The route will take him 10.2 miles round trip, and he is seeking people to sponsor him, at any donation, per mile. He will be doing the walk on the 30th of April. He normally walks 1.5 miles every day in the morning, and has been increasing his walks to 3-5 miles per day. He estimates that the fundraising walk should take him from 8am-12pm. He will not be walking in costume, but we will be equipping him with a camelback, granola bars, and have some friends who will do the walk with him.

Oh, by the way, Dad just celebrated his 80th birthday 2 months ago...

Yes, at 80 years old he is still teaching 600 students per week. Yes, at 80 years old he is planning to do a 10.2 mile walk to earn back the money someone else stole. And YES, he needs your help. ANY donation will help.

Donations can be made via Paypal (personal gift option) to: Perryinnovations@aol.com and put PTO Walk in the comment

  3. This is from the 501st forums:

    Troops,

We are asking for help and Prayers for one of our own. The Philippine Outpost's Master Cloner, TC-4115 Dexter Enriquez, was badly injured in a fire early this morning, December 12, 2010. He was in his youngest sister's house in Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Just last week, Dexter's father passed away from complications of emphysema. They buried him on Saturday, December 11, 2010. That night, he returned to Manila and stayed at his sister's house to sort some things. Possibly due to stress and fatigue of laying his father to rest, they did not notice a fire had started in his sister's room due to faulty electrical wiring. The fire started at about 4am. It took over an hour before the firetrucks could get there.

By the time Dexter woke up, most of the house was ablaze. He couldn't get to the room where his sister and his 5-year-old niece were sleeping. He jumped out of a second floor window, and the roof of the house collapsed. Neighbors took him to the nearest hospital. Nothing was left of the house and the fire spread to adjacent apartments.

He lost almost everything he had at that house, clothes, collectibles, photos of his family and other tangible items. Worst of all, his youngest sister and her 5-year old daughter perished in the fire.

Dexter is now at the St. Luke's Hospital in Quezon City. He is under observation for smoke inhalation and treatment of the burns along both arms and hands. He is lucid but still in a lot of pain. He has 2nd degree burns on both arms and hands, some burns and blistered skin on his face and neck. There may have been some smoke inhalation as well. He will be in the hospital for at least two weeks.

Some friends have helped out with the initial hospital expense but recovering after the loss will be difficult.

Dexter is one of our most enthusiastic and steadfast troopers, ready to don his helmet anytime and anywhere. we are asking for help among our Brothers- and Sisters-in-Armor: Dexter needs clothing & shoes to replace what he lost. He needs money to make up for lost time away from work and hospital bills. Also he needs your support and prayers to get his life back to normal.

If anyone would like to send aid in any form, please let us know.

  4. After a few parades last week, I've noticed the inner of my AM thigh armor is scuffed from rubbing against each other. Is this normal? I'm about to get some Novus to take the scuffs out; I'm wondering if the thighs should be brought in more as they are a bit big. We didn't take too much off (they are held up with a back brace/garter system) as we did not want to lose the contoured shape. Thanks again for any help!
