  1. Here's a first cut at what the FISD might consider as a CRL standard for the Force Unleashed Felucian Stormtrooper Officer (To be approved by the FISD and LMO).

Here's research I did on the costume at the TX Det forum, but honestly I personally feel it belongs here because although it's EU, from what I can tell it's not a Special Operations trooper - it's a Stormtrooper Commander. As TX Det Lead, I'll be happy to work with FISD Leadership and the LMO so everything goes smoothly despite some earlier hiccups.

As you'll notice in the reference pics, there are some significant detail variances. I think with what pics we have, there can be some healthy debate on how the FISD wishes to work this costume.

3 Picture Rule References (3 different sources): -----------

    Must have Armor Details:

    - White Glossy Stormtrooper armor, made in ABS, HIPS, or fiberglass with rank stripe details in Duplicolor Royal Blue that exactly match the videogame and action figure references posted above. Armor can be battle-weathered (minor scuffs).

    - Black Gloves made of rubber, leather, or leather-like material with no visible ornamental stitching and TK handplates

    - Black or Dark Navy Blue undersuit, either one-piece or two piece. Non-textured material. Commonly used items include “UnderArmor” or “Starter” warm-up suits, or dance unitards.

    - White, ankle high, laceless, Stormtrooper boots. The boots are usually made from leather or vinyl and must have Royal Blue rank stripes on them.

    - Drop boxes (small rectangular parts attached to stormtrooper’s belts, above the thigh)

    - Thermal Detonator (aka O2 Cannister) center mounted on the back of the belt

    - "Buttons and ridges" ab plate, as opposed to the flat rectangular ab plate of sandtroopers

    - Polygon knee plate mounted on the left shin, as opposed to the diamond knee plate of sandtroopers

    - Ribbed shoulder straps

    - Black or Dark Navy Blue ribbed neckseal (must match bodysuit color). The ribs should be horizontal, not be loose, and should extend from the base of the neck to the top of the adam's apple.

    - Correctly colored and sized ab plate buttons. Buttons are approximately 7/16" in diameter.

    - Belt may alternatively be canvas or canvas covered, approximately 3" wide.

    - Holster must be white or black and on the trooper's left side. It may be made of leather, vinyl, or heavy cloth devoid of any ornamental stitching.

    Helmet Details:

    - Black or grey cheek, frown, and helmet indents

    - Royal blue tube stripes & rank stripe matching the videogame & action figure references posted above

    - Flat or bubble green, smoke, or black lenses

    E-11 Blaster Details:

    - Scratch-built, resin cast, hyperfirm rubber cast, or modified e-11 toy blaster based off a Sterling sub-machine gun body. No other blaster has been shown or approved.

I hope this helps foster some cooperation between our two Dets.

  2. Yeah, Paul. There are some parts of his story that don't add up and I'm more apt to believe your hypothesis. I've spent the night looking at ANH screengrabs and can't pick out this armor in the photos, but I'll have to take a look at the pics on Jez's site to see if he's there (can't hit his site because of our proxy software).

  3. It looks like they used the knee part for shoulder straps and the brow on the helm is way too short. Just looks like an early fan-made suit to me.

You're right - those shoulder straps are the knee parts. And the brow trim is way too short. Dunno what's up with his right lower arm part - looks way too short. And it looks like he's wearing wool mittens.

I'll have to look at screen caps and see if I can find a trooper with knees for shoulder straps.

His name is Robert Philpot, and I do think I saw his name on one of the "Real Stormtrooper" lists. I'll have to keep looking...

  4. I offer premium 1/8" thick (not cheap thin material) dark emerald green or smoke lenses cut and formed for FX for $20 a set shipped. I also offer uncut sheets for non-FX owners who can cut and form them themselves (just takes a heat gun) for $10 with enough material to make two lenses (TE/AP/etc.).

    Details here: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=2791

Turnaround is 2 days and I guarantee my work. If you trace the lens hole in your helm on a 3"x5" card, I can custom make them, but you'll have to form them yourself. But for $10 an uncut sheet, the price can't be beat.

  5. Crud. I had your TE suits under Cams (as if he sold them to you, not vice versa). I'll have to fix that on the chart. So the way you put it, all screen-accurate suits available today are based off of armor you owned or put out at one time. Gino bought moulds from you (from what I understand), as did Cam.

Just trying to get this armor lineage chart project right, but it's hard as everyone's info conflicts. ;)

  6. That's why I'm more apt to trust you, Paul. ;) Funny thing is tonight I've been pulling out my references to glean the tells from his armor but I'm certain you're 100% right, especially after looking at that helm. It's not ANH from what I can tell by the teeth. And the chest is different.

  7. Camerons armour was cast from an ROTJ and was incomplete. As I understand it, the original parts used for casting by Oakley, were bought by TE and that is where all the current 'movie cast' replica armour comes from.

That contradicts what Cameron said on Gus Lopez's site a few years back. Perhaps he didn't know better at the time...

  8. Offering a run of solid color acrylic .118 Emerald Green or Smoke FX replacement flat lenses if you want to upgrade your old FX smoke bubble lenses so you can see much better out of your helm during troops. These are not flimsy lenses like you see on eBay - they're 1/8" thick and the color is moulded-in vs. a cheap coating.

You can also save 50% by making it a quick DIY project by ordering an uncut sheet; simply cut on the lines marked on the paper backing, heat them up gently (with the paper still on) for about 25-30 seconds for the green or 18-23 seconds for the smoke with a heat gun on high, then gently form them to fit your helmet while pliable, let them cool down then hotglue them in. Couldn't be simpler!

Here's a comparison pic with FX Bubble (Top), Flat Smoke (Middle), Flat Emerald Green (Bottom):

They're nice and dark, but you'll see a lot better out of them.

Here is a flash pic from 3 feet away, just so you can see that your eyes won't show (because they're thick lenses)...

    Options are:

    1) A set of either color (green or smoke), cut and gently curved to fit FX helms: $20 shipped US; Overseas please add $1 shipping. They're also anti-fog coated.

    2) Uncut sheet of either color (makes 2 lenses), $10 shipped US; Overseas please add $1 shipping. You'll have to cut these yourself (not hard at all), but you'll save 50%! Uncut sheets can be cut to fit TE/AP/Gino helms.

    3) A set of either color (green or smoke), cut but NOT precurved to fit FX/AP/TE/Gino/Meatsock helms: $15 shipped US; Overseas please add $1 shipping. You'll have to use a heatgun to form them (heat them evenly for 23-27 seconds on high then press to the inside of your helmet to form).

Paypal to: kchristley@gmail.com and specify color and make sure you add a correct shipping address!

Turnaround is 2-3 business days and the lenses (or sheet) will be shipped USPS First Class in a padded mailer. As with all my offerings, 100% satisfaction guaranteed or your money back. Nothing leaves my shop unless I'd put 'em in my helm.

Run is over when I run out of the 4'x8' sheets.

  9. Sandman, congratulations! You'll love building it up and don't be afraid to ask for help. I learned from a bunch of experience troopers when I put my first set together and now it's like second nature.

I'm stoked for you! Can't wait to see your build.

And thanks to all for the warm welcome! I already feel at home. ;)

  10. Hey gang! I'm TK-1422 from the great Pikes Peak Squad from the Mountain Garrison here in snowy Colorado! While we seem more suited for Snow Troopers, there's a big TK presence here. ;)

I've been a TK since '02 and it's nice to (finally) be here and I hope to learn some tips and tricks to improve my armor even better than it is now.
