beautiful stuff and i've got to say that the 330 in your avatar is equally as beautiful.
Haha, thanks. My old faithful.

You copied shins and thighs finished in the style of an original suit from Episode IV or Episode V.
The ROTJ suits did not have butt joints with strips on the outide. The seams overlapped and had no outer strips.

I don't know whether it's possible to remedy it at this stage, but outer finishing strips on the limb parts was also an inappropirate choice for ROTJ. I don't know whether they're appropriate for Incinerators Troopers or not (I don't even really know what and Incinerator Trooper is).

In summary ...
... the helmets selected for filming ESB typically had full eye cuts without much "flashing".
... However, it is unlikely that this was the result of extra trimming. Many of the helmets were trimmed like this already for the original Star Wars film and it just happened (*) to be these helmets which were selected for ESB.
Fair assessment?
(*) I'd wager a guess though that the selection was in part deliberate based on the condition of the eyes, i.e. the rough-trimmed helmets with a lot of flashing were quite possibly regarded as less desirable and discarded. Who knows?

The helmet on the right of the picture as we look at it is the TM.

The guys from Sonic Youth say "congratulations"!

Wow Rick, I didn´t know this pic and I hadn´t thought that the tube stripes varied from side to side.
So crafty forget my comment. Shame on me.
There weren't that many Hero helmets and this one is one kept in the Lucas archives. It's as good a reference as any.

but if I count right you have 11 on the left and 12 on the right side.
A bit like this original hemlet, you mean?
-
Yeah, that'd do it!

Very nice, mate! This PVC should come with a glare warning: do not look directly at the shiny PVC without sun glasses!

Is the new ab button plate standard issue on current and open orders?

It's not even AP armour. The thread is tagged wrong.
-
Out of all the 4 different types of armour (AP, TM, RS & CfO) I have built it is by far the most difficult to build - thick plastic and parts which do not match up well.
The end result is also the least pleasing and farthest removed from the on-screen armour it is meant to replicate.
The moulds seem to have been reworked quite drastically, presumably to make the limb parts more roomy and cater for larger builds.
As a result, the leg parts are far removed from the original shape.
Compare AP to other armour with the same lineage (TE, TE2, ATA, SDS) and you will notice that the tops of the thighs look oddly wide and rounded, far removed from the sharp lines of the original suits.

Congratulations. Time to get rid of the Rubies avatar I'd say!

Vision is surprisingly good just on the outside edge it's a tiny bit weird but over all its very good and yep paul done them for me.
Ah yes, Paul commented in another thread that he's developed a way of shaping them so that you can still see OK.
And my biceps are????The dog's danglies!

There not flat there bubbled mate for true hero accuracy :-)
Sorry, mate. They looked flat in the photos. How's the vision? Did Paul make them?
-
The parts will probably have been shortened to allow the performers to dance I should think.
So, have you got all the moves down yet, Mark?
-
- heat gun work: a bit worried heh heh
On thinner parts I have had good results with a normal hair dryer. Needs a bit of patience but it makes sure that you heat gently and slowly. Better than melting stuff out of all recognition.

Congratulations on a cool score, Mark.
My first impression is that the shoulder bells might be a good option for casting additional parts. I'm not convinced that the other limb parts will be of much use. In the photos, they all look as if they have been radically shortened.
I hope I'm wrong, it would be nice if you could add some parts from it. I suppose you could always cast and re-sculpt to the correct length if need be.
Good luck.

That seriously needs addressing.
It doesn't help you much now, but I included direct reference to overlapping seams in my proposals for the new CRL/EIB/Centurion requirements. Maybe after the election is out of the way, the new detachment leader can tackle this and we can have a vote on my suggestions.
