[Wanted - Earpiece For FX Helmet]

I just realized that I'm missing one of the earpieces (not the whole thing, just the gray "box" with the rank indicator) for my FX bucket. Doh!

I picked up the kit last month on eBay, and the seller shorted me an earpiece. Fantastic. I hope he gets a rash.

 

I was wondering if any of you fine people happened to have an extra, or know where I might pick one up.

I have one. You will probably need to cut it to match your other, it's only rough cut. I came with a kit I never used. Darthnickle got the faceplate a couple weeks ago. PM me your address and I'll try to send it this week. Your in the US right?

Hehehe... Sadly, by the time I figured out she had snagged it, I was about six blocks away, and entirely too buzzed to do a whole lot about it, except maybe impress her with my uncanny ability to remain reasonably vertical while slurring simple sentences. I didn't intend to get that way, but apparently, people in Denver like buying shots for the guy in the stormtrooper outfit. And who am I to argue with that kind of generosity? Right?

 

I do wonder what she thought later on when she found an inexplicable hunk of plastic and velcro in her purse. It would've been fun to hear that conversation, I bet.

 

I think my homeslice TrikToys is gonna hook me up with the drop boxes, though, so I should be all sussed out.

 

Ok, I swear I'm not one of those "all you TKs in Bolivia look the same to me" kinda guys, but you don't happen to put helmets up for sale on eBay do you?

Cuz if so, I looked at a couple of your lids, and you do nice work. I just figured I'd risk mentioning it, as there can't be *that* many dudes in Bolivia who frequent stormtrooper discussion boards.

I've been watching eBay too, but so far the only listings I've seen for drop boxes have been for ones made out of GRP (fiberglass) and not ABS. I'm a little concerned about a mismatch in color.

 

That same listing is located in England as well, and while I'm a pretty huge anglophile, I'd rather not shell out for international shipping on an item so realtively small.

 

Basically, what I'm sayin' is that I'm cheap and picky. How's that for a lousy combo? Hehe..

I really hope I'm not violating policy with a "Want To Buy" thread here-- if I am, my apologies -- but I was wondering if someone could help stear me towards a source for spare drop/hip boxes for an FX armor kit. I lost one of mine to an overzealous (read: gloriously, stinking drunk) bar-hopper on Halloween. But she was hot. So, overall, I'm not too bummed about it.

 

If anyone could nudge me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it!

Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, and thank you all for putting together such an amazingly informative and inclusive forum!

Well, I have to admit that i'm completely new to this whole experience, and am probably painfully naive about most of this stuff.

I picked up an assembled FX kit on eBay last month, thinking it would be a one-time thing for a Make-A-Wish event. But after putting on the armor and walking around downtown Denver for about ten minutes, I could quickly tell that this was going to develop into something more like an addiction to black-tar heroin than a one-night goof for charity. I'll hopefully be taking my first crack at assembling a new set of AP armor this month. (The FX kit is very nice, but sadly, I'm pretty skinny and with the oversized helmet, the "orange on a toothpick" look is just that more exaggerated with me.)

 

I'm currently a Creative Director (i.e., "glorified graphic designer with flimsy managerial skills").

 

My interests include writing, music (I play bass and guitar), sketch comedy, art/design, and playing what is arguably the worst form of Golf seen in the western hemisphere.

 

I was tipped to the forum's existence by some furious Google-ing while I was trying to find a costume for MAW, and was absolutely stunned by the breadth of information to be found here. There is a ludicrous amount of knowledge and TK resources kicking around this place, and I can't tell how invaluable it was to a greenhorn like myself. I was extremely happy when I found it, and have been lurking around ever since.

 

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello, and thank everyone for creating such a gracious environment.

I can't wait to start getting more involved!
