I have the 2 piece method, and even though you cant move that much, it will still ride up. I have shared my dislike to Tim at many events. The best way to combat this is to tuck the shirt in the pants as best you can. Also if you are worried about it showing skin where the kidney and butt plate meet, place a small amount of black fabric on the inside, between the 2 pieces. That way if it rides up, no skin will be visable

Yes in that picture Carrie is a little shorter than Hamill, but I read that she was so much shorter than Ford, that she had to stand on a box to stay in fram. Is she standing on a box in these?

Welcome aboard its great to have you

Subtle fixes and slight mods really help in the overall final appearance. I know the strap setup has given you issues previously. Looks more secure and improved now. Good luck. All the hard work will be worth it.
Yeah, it is fitting much better now. I am glad I made the changes:
Speaking of which here is updated pics

heh ya, except i couldnt find any abs kits i liked as well as affordable, i was thinking AP but thats 350 dollars more that i dont really have
Yeah, my AP build was a beast. I never made a build thread, I wish I did.
The Trooper that created the thread that I linked to, should be able to help you. PM him and see what advice he has.

wow, really? even 2 months seems like a long time to build a kit, for me atleast lol... what im probably going to do is just work on it all day every day until im finished, not rushing but just working on it all the time since i dont have a job haha
I know, but it will fly by. Do you really want to rush, and increase the risk of making a mistake? I have never worked on ATA, and I know its "affordable trooper armor", however, it is still pricey.
Trust me take your time, post pics, get tips, there are a million ways to construct armor...... Contact your local 501st garrison, and see when the next armor party will be.
Here is a recent build of ATA, ----
there isnt a step by step process, and it took this trooper from May to October to complete it (again they could have had a schedule issues, or not).

It depends......
on your skill level, the time you have to work on it, even the kit type.
I have AP, which takes on average 4 months to a year....... it took me 3 years (schedule conflicts), does that mean that you cant complete one in 2 months? Not at all, there are people out there who have a knack at it.
The best advice I ever got is to take your time, dont rush. You want to make sure that you plan it out, if something unexpected happens then you adapt to the situation. Take it one thing at a time, dont get overwhelmed. In the end, it will take as long as it takes.
Personal deadlines can be a great motivator, however, they can be a nightmare if you over shoot, then you will start thinking that "well, since I didnt make the deadline I wanted, I can put it off for a while."
Just have fun, ask questions, and enjoy the ride

TK 9301 requesting 501st trooper status.

just approved this morning.

Im 6'3, and I have just "finished" an AP kit it it fits fine.......i did have to add shims because I am 200 lbs. It all depends on your body type. I have a long torso, and not so long limbs, so it works for me. My suggestion is to measure your body, then look for measurements of various armors.

In before the lock!!!!
Seriously, TM did do years of research, and tracked them down..... the information is his to give out as he wishes. I am a little biased on this, because I find the hunt thrilling, and think it makes the end so much better. Either way, it isnt worth getting all bent out of shape over.
-
I thought sintra was brittle, this is going to need alot of flexability, for years of opening and closing during the dressing. Can sintra be bent that frequently, without cracking under the stress?
-
I have my shins connected with the over lay seam technique, but the scrap I used to keep it together on the inside split.
I have very little scrap left, and was wondering. If I get some tupperware, and cut it into strips, would this be better due to the flexability of the plastic?
Thanks guys, and it is good to be back

That is a good idea about the snaps. I dont have stirrups for my legs or my arms, and I havent had any trouble without them. I actually got my "under armor" at the Walmart at Spring Creek and 75. Pretty cheap, like $10 for each. They dont stock them for very long, so grab them when you can.
Plano is a nice town, I lived there for a few years until recently, still go there quite often
