By the looks of it, the two sets of ears are for whatever type of helmet you're building, stunt (four bumps) and hero (three bumps). I should hopefully receive my ATA helmet soon to replace the abomination I'm using. (FX, its horrible)

That's the thing though, I know someone who used to work in the shipping business and he says when something is marked as fragile they throw them for fun. Anyway, it's good to see nothing was damaged. Good luck and have fun with the build.
