Question regarding equipment for amateur astronomists here.

Helllo

I am actually looking for info on telescopes!!!!! I use to be really into it as a kid and spent a lot of quality father son time with my dad. But I am totally lost on this area now ( 20 plus years out of the telescope loop)

So is there any amateur astronomists here that can help me look and remember what’s a descent telescope now a days in the 200-300 maybe 400 buck range…????

I have no need to be able to see the screws on the Hubble space telescope or read the inscription on the base of the eagle on the moon just to be able to look at the stars again.

A lot of helpful and experienced telescope users there. I became a member a while back when I decided I want to build a reflector telescope. I haven't started the project yet, for various reasons, but having joined this site I now feel like I can take it on.
