Debater2nd[TK] Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I need some advice about belt attachment. I have built a canvas belt, and attached the ab belt plate with snaps. However, the snaps seem to pop off way to easily, and so I think I need to make it more secure. I want to rivet it, but after reading around the boards, I realized that I don't have "rivet covers." I guess they didn't come with the ab belt plate. Can I just rivet and paint the rivets white, or it there a better way to do this? I have what will be my first troop coming up this weekend, and I really need to make sure I don't lose bits of my armor! Any suggestions would be great...thanks! Quote
DEDEDEJr Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I personally use large amounts of industrial velcro to secure my belt plate, but that is probably not the permanent option you are looking for. Quote
Debater2nd[TK] Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 Does the Velcro actually stay on the canvas? Do you sew it or something? Quote
DEDEDEJr Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I use a pleather belt, so it's easier. But a few dabs of hot glue should do for the velcro on canvas, seeing as how it's so sticky already. If you're looking for a quick way to secure your belt for the weekend, I think velcro's as good as it gets. Quote
Debater2nd[TK] Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 Yeah, maybe you're right. The snaps worked ok, but when one side of the belt would pop off, it was pretty hard to get it back on while wearing the gloves etc. I'd still like to rivet it if I can, I'm just not sure if I need to have the rivet covers, or if it's ok to just paint them.
